Former Staff Medal

    I've been thinking about this for a long time now... and there has been lots of discussion about this lately. I really think this medal needs to be implemented. There are LOTS of former staff out there that need attention. People like iWish and tac42 (one of the many examples...) that really worked hard and moderated Brawl really well. Sure, some of them get demoted for doing something bad... but think about this, 5 months of moderating, they make a poor decision once and get demoted. Are those 5 months just a waste of time? These people need to be recognized as well they didn't just sit behind their computer moderating for nothing. Most of the time I can't even tell if my friend was a former-mod... these people really need to be thanked for the work they do. I'm not going to talk mushy doing a staff compliment... but these people are literally epic and personally in my opinion the fact that they didn't even resign makes them more worthy of getting this medal. The medal should be just like the Retired Staff medal, just a different item and make it called Former Staff medal, we still need to recognize those people who didn't get it past their trial, are extremely old moderators, or have gotten demoted.

    The current medal for former staff is in fact called "Former Staff" and demoted staff members do get it. Only Trial Moderators who failed to complete trial stage don't get it.

    Former staff members are given a medal. iWish was not given a medal because he didn't pass the trial stage. In my opinion, they should allow it for people who were in the trial stage, because they still did put some effort into it.

    Didn't make according to that... but interesting....

    I would like to make this actually happen not an issue in my opinion. People who didn't make their trial still deserve a reward.

    I've never seen that happen... there could be exceptions. But there are really good mods that do epic jobs at moderating, make a poor decision TOWARDS THE END but don't get recognition for all those months they actually did a really nice job at moderating. Sure they screwed up in the end but they still put a lot of effort in making Brawl a better place.

    That was just a notification about a falsely given medal. MrWaffleman is suggesting that staff members who didn't make it out of trial stage also get it.

    Only because someone doesn't make it out of trial stage does not mean he/she abused. They could have resigned, been inactive or considered not to be appropriate as a staff member for other reasons.

    A trial is a trial. It's basically a stage where you aren't fully accepted into the staff stage, but you are given the permissions to allow the higher-ups to see where you are at. Once they trust that you're ready, you become promoted fully to the staff team.

    Well you have a point there... but they still were qualified to being a staff member which takes lots of skill. Plus during the Trial Mode they still did "moderate" basically... it should be a medal like "(akfjlvna) we made it :grinning:".

    I would say it's more like "staff member". The trial period can be seen as a time where the person works to prove themselves that they are worth being an actual mod. Since the application doesn't show how good they could actually moderate, they give them a trial time to show what they could do. Yes, they did moderate. No, it doesn't seem like they had done it well enough. Had they done it at least average, they more than likely would have been promoted to Mod. An underwhelming performance results in a failed trial. They had the chance and didn't make it.

    Participation medals, just like the ones you give little children at sports events they could get?

    So would this medal have a in game value or just for show? Maybe a different colour in servers? Just some ideas I thought of

    Who knew? I like this idea of the medal (for staff who make it through the Jedi trials).....even if they end up getting demoted or resign.

    Are there other cool medals out there?
