    Hello everyone,
    I've always been curious for people's opinions on the Pyro class. Anyways, If you would like to share your opinion on Pyro that would be greatly appreciated!

    My Opinion: Well in my opinion, I feel the Pyro class is very easy to use. Pyro is a class that takes skill, but isn't insanely hard to use. Some classes are hard to use, and take alot of practice. This is just my opinion, so don't think this is the truth and or a legitimate fact.

    OP AF and needs a major nerf along with soldier and chemist. That's priority one for changes ATM.

    Pyro takes little skill and either needs a nerf or a rework.

    In my opinion, every class has three components – skill input, balance, and power. Some classes are overpowered yet balanced. For example, archer can instakill, but its low health/armor and high skill input balance it out. Being balanced yet overpowered is not ideal, but it can be lived with. The majority of the community (from what I've heard) wants to keep it as is.

    Unlike archer, classes like pyro have caught the negative side of all three aspects. Pyro can instakill, has medium health/armor, and low skill input. This makes it overpowered and unbalanced, which is a bad combination. Classes that are overpowered and unbalanced generally can't be lived with, and as a result, the majority of the community wants a rework.

    Pyro is my main class, and I enjoy it as is. It's fun to be overpowered and unbalanced, especially since I'm pretty bad at PVP in general. Of course, it's not so fun on the receiving end. Although I understand and support that pyro needs a rework, I'll probably spend considerably less time on CTF afterwards. (not sure why I wrote 3 paragraphs in order to say that, but whatever)

    They have nerfed it and I do think that it is somewhat OP but... I dont think it needs another nerf some classes like assassin medic and dwarfs level 5+ are there weakness along with ninjas (if they know what they are doing). There is usually water around the map. So my opinion on pyro is overrated tbh. Also if you say its hard capping when a pyro is defending that just means you need to work with your team and either rush with 2 or more or flush him out/kill him.

    I think pryo and the other instakill classes are necessary because they get rid of classes with high armor like heavy and classes with a high healthpool like chemist.

    I think that Pyro doesn't need a big nerf as much as it needs a gameplay rework. The biggest issue with Pyro imo is the bow and arrows because they make it a very campy class (which is exaggerated by bad map designs like @Miskey pointed out) since Pyro can just sit somewhere and light anyone who comes by up and kill them. This is an especially big problem in the flag room where stealing the flag can be very hard especially against defenses that have a Pyro or a Pyro/Dwarf or Pyro/Mage combination. Another problem with Pyro is that it counters some classes (Heavy) really hard but is countered equally harshly by other classes (Assassin/Ninja), which makes for uneven and unfair gameplay for either the Pyro or the enemy attacker.

    What I'd like to see is the bow and arrows and the instant kill removed and replaced with something else, such as mage-like fire charges and a short range 'frenzy mode' ability as suggested by @Quarrelt. That way, it could eliminate or nearly eliminate Pyro camping, and would also make it less vulnerable to Ninjas and Assassins while less effective against Heavies and Archers. Furthermore, a rework like that would still give Pyro a ranged ability and would not make gameplay so radically different that it would confuse everyone who played it.

    Anyway, the only issue with changing all that stuff with Pyro is that it exacerbates other problems with the game and is another reason why CTF needs a total rework instead of individual changes.

    I think pyro is OP as f0k, more so now that ninja can't reliably 2 shot one.

    I don't see what's "balanced" about archer. It has decent armour/health and can survive multiple ninja attacks, can block assassins, and can bowspam every other class away from them. I also don't think "skill" is defined by "shoot arrows at someone 10-20 times with no consequence for missing".

    Yeah, I've learned from personal experience that that's quite hard to pull of successfully.
    Nearly all classes can. No big deal.
    1-That's noobz only. 2-classes like Elf and Mage are extremely good at countering bowspam (but speaking f it, killing a mage from short/mid range without bowspamming (in this case, very fast quickdrawing. The difference is that in 1 do don't aim and in another you do) is almost impossible, as damage spells 9/10 of the time outspeed (yes that's a thing) archer arrows.
    Actually, there are consequences for missing. For example, missing when they know you're there will buy them extra time to kill you, and missing when they don't know you're there about 6/10 of the time notifies them that you're there, especially if the arrow lands in front of them.

    both your points are under the implication that you can even get close to an archer without being headshotted.

    pyro is ridiculously op. i have like 500 games at most with it and ive got over a 50 ks like 5 times cuz its so ez

    It's quite easy to do, just sneak up on them whilst their in the middle of a short-range fight with people who have also sneaked up/fighting an archer from afar.

    It's fine. It's easy to take out with assassin or medic and it's pretty much a necessity against soldier campers.

    My decision would be to have it remove an opponent's armor for a limited time while they're on fire instead of instakilling, keeping its defensive power but reducing its effectiveness in the midfield.

    Im fine with pyro, as I haven't had much problems with it. (Then again, I play mage. XD) So its quite easy to keep pyros away and eventually kill them, and could be considered a counter to the pyro that could seemingly "Hold down a flagroom by itself." Its an overexaggerated class that gets quickly killed by medics, chemists, mages, ninjas, and assassins.

    I don't see a problem with pyro, other than the fact that ninja can no longer 2-shot it. If you wanted a nerf, just take away some of its armor / steak / replace flint and steel with 5 recharching flame charges

    Remember when Pyro's didn't have to fully charge their bows to catch people on fire? Yeah...me too.

    Rly have no problem w/ it. Only thing i would like to see changed about it is the ability for it to flag camp w/ bow drawn, cheap af defense.
