Idea Ninja buff

    I think ninja should get 25-50% armor penetration on targets affected by flash bombs. This would make it easier to burst people down, and deal with high armor targets like heavy, while not increasing the damage on squishy classes by too much, so they would still have time to react instead of dying instantly. In addition I think flash bombs should regenerate every 15 seconds, with a max of 2. This way ninja would have to choose carefully who to use it on, but wouldn't run out completely.

    Another change that might be good is lowering the range on pearls but making them not cost health (or just less). This way ninjas would not have to kill themselves when chasing someone, but they also wouldn't be able to catch up with someone who's halfway across the map.

    I am fine with Ninja in the way it is. The only issue I have with this class is that it feels like it does way more damage than on MCPVP. I heard something about enchantment damage being bugged, but I don't even know if it really does more damage.
    The armor penetration would prevent its best counter Heavy from working as such.

    Good idea, but ninja is already powerful AF to the point where they nerfed it to do equal damage to chemist.

    I like that this adds a greater skill dynamic to ninja, like using eggs in a fight. I'd say 33%, 50% is too much IMO.

    They only nerfed it because of the broken crits, if they were fixed the old sharpness would be fine.

    I'd say that ninja needs a buff for maybe one or 2 instant health potions, as any class easily takes it out if you're not careful. Then again ninja pros would be over powered and games would be unfair. I guess I'd say +1 on this idea.

    Well... kind of iffy on the armor penetration, but I could see how it can work out. I also like how the eggs can respawn, pretty cool ideas... don't really know how to make a constructed response though.

    I think ninja should stay without instant health. If ninja gets killed to quickly, maybe give it some resistance, but I think the lack of steak/pots is good because it makes you play careful and get punished for mistakes. Steak/pots might be op for capping.
    idk what a good percent would be, that would probably require some testing.
    With the right amount of pen, heavy would still win an even fight, but a good ninja would be able to win if it's good enough. Right now heavy beats ninja so hard that it is really hard to win against a heavy who isn't a complete noob.

    I'm not going to take a positive or negative opinion on this idea until its tested, mainly because I don't know if say 25% armor penetration in addition to a Sharpness IV gold sword would be more or less powerful than a Sharpness VI sword (which Ninja had before the nerf) or even if 40% will or by how much.

    Hypothetically, if its much more powerful then I think its a bad idea because skilled Ninjas can already deal an extremely high amount of damage very rapidly and can usually take out squishy classes and any sort of armor penetration would make that even worse. However if its roughly as powerful as a Sharpness VI sword or not quite as strong I'm in favor of the idea since it makes the flash bombs even more useful and increases strategy in the class.

    15 seconds is a lot of time in CTF for only one flash bomb. Maybe 7.5 or just 7 seconds would be better but this would also depend on how much of a damage buff Ninja gains from armor penetration to those affected by the flash bombs.

    Studmuffin had an idea very similar to that and I like it.

    I agree with all of this except for the last part because it would destroy ninja recovering if their flag isn't taken. It's already hard enough because there are lots of obstacles on most maps.

    agreed. i definitely think ninja needs some sort of damage buff since it cant two shot pyros when buffed anymore.

    The reason I chose armor pen is because it would not affect squishy classes as much. The damage increase on pyro would not be super big, so they would have a chance to react still. It would give ninja more of a chance against high armor like heavy, who destroys ninja right now, and ideally would still have an advantage as long as the ninja doesn't outplay the heavy.

    The flash bombs could start regenerating right after you use them, so if you space them out, you would get 1 every 7 seconds, but if you use them both at the same time you have to wait longer.

    I'm very much in favor of making eggs useful again however like most of other peeps opinions your percentages need testing. And while your enderpearl idea may sound fine there's a potential problem. A few ninjas like to use enderpearls to glitch through walls and ceilings to get past defenses, steal, or in some cases glitch themselves under the map while carrying the flag and possibly hold the entire game up till the timer runs out. Hp cost helps limit this to some degree so removing it for something else may encourage this behavior.

    Overall: Nice ideas that need tweaking, I'm very glad that someone is finally talking about buffing this class considering the amount of punishment it had to deal with since the transfer.

    Yes but 2 things chemist has that ninja doesnt is A) higher health pool and B)armor

    -I like the egg idea @Arevoir cancels the egg spam
