"Targeting"

Line is crossed when you've been the sole ender of a person's life for their last 10 deaths IMO.

 

If you're defending and they keep coming to the flag and you kill them, not targetting at all. But if you're going offensive and killing them repeatedly when you see them, then yes.
I remember one time someone accused me of targetting because they attacked me twice, and I killed them both times.

 

It wasn't, was some randy I had never seen before. xD
But if it was, then it's a good thing I killed them.

 

In that instance, I'm not sure. If it's their best capper, I mean maybe it's "strategic targetting". Even so, I still think going offensive to kill someone over and over again, I consider, to be targetting.

 

Agreed. On offense, there are more people to kill than there are allies with you. You shouldn't kill someone repeatedly.

 

I get that often when the same numbnuts comes to my flag room over and over trying to kill me specifically first only to get steam rolled over and over. After about 5 attempts the NOOB TARGETER! starts flying around like its going outta style xD

 

Yea I sometimes get accused for targetting, when I just am playing the game, and trying to increase my kill count :/

 

I remember one time (a long time ago) I was playing on an alt as archer and I'd only played for 2 minutes and you were already targeting me and when I asked why you said "because I hate archers"

 

Totally agree. Don't just go after one person, when there are so many others around there.

I'm rather against targeting, as I know how it affects certain people.

What makes "targeting" is when you repeatedly go after someone with some sort of malicious intent behind it, whether it's to make them feel bad or stop their plans for doing anything moderately useful in the game (whenever I see targeting, it seems to be for the "feel bad" reasoning.) If someone is targeting just to bring someone down in an emotional way, then I definitely have an issue with targeting.

However, even with that, people use the term the wrong way too often. If player A is defending their flag from player B and the player B complains, then that's just using the term the wrong way.

It honestly depends on the situation and who is involved.

 

Yes, I agree that it's not write to throw out accusations like a mad man, but if someone is actually targeting that's not the right thing either

 

to me, targeting is where you just go after someone over and over. i admit that i do it a lot, especially to archers that camp choke points and pyros. for archers, i just go ninja and kill them over and over until they either move spots or give up with archer, and with pyro i just assassinate them constantly till they change classes. there is never any malicious intent or personal vendetta behind it, i just don't like playing against those classes and i know lots of other people don't as well, so i try my best to remove them from the game

 

I consiter it targeting when they do it to just piss you off.

Like I'm Necro and somone dies to a Zombie. There mad so they come at me, I kill them, they try again, I kill them again, so on a so forth. Adventually I cant get a Medic or run out of steak and they kill me. Its when they have no reguard how many times it takes they just keep on trying till they kill you.

Like they want 1-19 against me, but there happy because they ened my killsteak of just because they killed me.
