So, just a quick thing here. The primary thing, in my opinion, that makes Elf as weak as it is, is the fact that it can't take a good beating and live through it. Its health pool of five steaks isn't so bad, in fact the number is well set, but it's so easy to burn right through them when you have flimsy leather clothing to protect you.

Suggestion: Increased armor protection. Either a Protection enchantment greater than its current Protection 1 (preferably greater than 2), or just plain better armor, i.e. iron chestplate or something.

It makes sense enough that this class deserves better armor. Ninja has major damage output but has zero armor. Elf, on the other hand, only has "high" damage output if you can land three fully-charged shots on one target, with the combo shots being about one second apart (this is assuming you're using Pure Element). Miss one of those shots at close range, and you're probably dead. And still, its weak armor allows it to get pummeled to death while loading its bow for a Pure shot.

This isn't necessarily a request to make Elf overpowered and change its place in CTF. It's just that the class could be so much more effective in the game if it were able to conserve its health more. Indeed, Elf is meant to be one of the more vulnerable classes in the game, but in its current state I believe it's too vulnerable.

Also see: https://www.brawl.com/threads/47365/ A great Elf rework.

I think elf is fine. It has a good balance of abilities, so it does not necessarily require high armour.

Not necessarily high armor, just something to keep it alive a little better.

Using those abilities to the best effect is not easy to do at all (i.e. getting kills w/Pure Element) especially when they're mostly skill-shots. If those abilities were easier to use and not all ranged (or if they were more powerful) then lack of armor wouldn't be too much of a problem.

That said, I don't see anything wrong with giving Elf an extra armor point or two, maybe feather falling on the boots and a leather cap with Protection I or something of the sort. Those five steaks really do disappear quickly and this is an easy change to make that would definitely improve Elf gameplay.

I don't think elf needs extra armour, as it already does a pretty good job as an offensive/defensive support.

The wind element does a great job currently at surviving, along with the reflection shield.

Elf is a great mobility class therefore it does not need amazing armor. I feel Elf is fine how it is at this current time.

@Keelerr @Subjugating Shoot bow three times at heavy, miss the third shot. Fly away with four arrows minimum. In all that time regenerate one arrow. Steak once or twice, keep shooting. Not many arrows left to do anything else. Fleeing is not only a waste of arrows, but it doesn't always get the job done, especially if the nearest safe spot requires more arrows of wind than what you currently have.

Elf doesn't need more health. Honestly, I feel its place in the game is purely as a capping class or supporting capping, since it has vertical as well as horizontal (making it circumstantially better than soldier) mobility. Pure element can do a bit of damage but its abilities mostly revolve around annoying the enemy.

It's powerful already as a capping class. Add more health and we have a projectile-proof, essentially fireproof soldier.

(not sure why I didn't see this in my alerts)
I'm aware of its great capping abilities. I'm usually pretty bad at capping, and I've earned a good number of caps with elf. It's just that it's extremely easy to die defending yourself when you lose too much health while eating steak then loading your bow for a shot while getting beat to death.

I do see your point with the changing its role, but I'm not asking for that much more armor. On a scale of 1 to 20, soldier has 15 armor points; elf has 6 plus protection 1 on the three armor pieces it has (not sure what that amounts to, I suppose about 8). The armor doesn't need to be doubled, just improved. I don't have a number to give since I have no idea how much armor is appropriate, but anything that's enough for steaks to be effective while being pummeled by a heavy should work.
