Why does archer have the third strongest armor, when it's a ranged class?

I concur that something should be done with the punch 2, although I'm not totally convinced this solution will fix every problem archer has.

On another note, you also need to be aware of the damage output. Yes archer has better armor than some of the other classes, but it also only has a stone sword (rightly so, it's a range class) which means it's damage output is lower at short range. Yes, it has better armor than some classes, but those with weaker armor often can do a lot more damage than archers can in the same amount of time

 

Only a new, suicidal, or an overly moral archer would ever use their sword over their crazy OP bowspam in cqc.

I honestly think archer is perfectly fine. Any archer can be destroyed in close combat. Archer can only kill if you are more then 20 blocks or so. It gets destroyed by ninjas 90% of the time and can be killed by any class. I understand how you guys think, but archer is the most balanced class.

 

I wouldn't go so far as to say the most balanced, but it is fairly balanced.

Because of its weakness in PVP, but long ranged ability, the instakill is balanced out.

 

Trust me, archer could be so much cheaper. Here are some ideas on how. It could have fire aspect on the bow. It could be able to shoot 3 arrows at once in left, straight, and right. Legitimately archer is the fairest class. Name one class besides heavy thats more fair.(heavy is a little underpowered compared to the other classes, since it has no abilities.)

 

In my opinion, Heavy isn't underpowered, because, even without abilities, it's still a tank.

 

Only real class it can tank against is ninja/soldier/engineer/necro/archer(in pvp)

 

l0l wat. That applies to every class, "it could be cheaper" is not an argument. Neither is being fair, CTF is pretty much fair since if you have all the classes you can almost do anything. Something can be essentially fair, like assassin, since every class with a sword can counter it, but that doesn't stop it from being OP or broken.

 

Also Chemist, if they're not potspamming. The low armor points causes them to use a lot of health potions when going against a Heavy.

 

poison and a few damage pots can easily kill it.

 

Archer is very balanced with it's chain armor and punch 2 bow and can only headshot someone from 30 blocks away so it's not 5 blocks away. The 30 blocks kind of balances things out.

Yeah, no it doesn't. As an archer myself, I've gotten so many kills by using the punch 2 to juggle somebody into 30 block range. As far as I know, the 30 blocks is measured by the distance the arrow travels, which means if you arc your shots properly you can headshot within 30 blocks. Finally, 30 blocks isn't even that much, as it's just enough distance to make archers HAVE to distance themselves from any fights but not enough to make it difficult to hit someone.

As somebody who played archer exclusively, on every map, for 2 years, let me tell you that archer is not a balanced class. It's not the most broken, and it's certainly not top priority, but it's not balanced.
