Bring Back Wool

At the moment, banners are to a point where it would be just silly to remove them. It would be a serious waste of time to remove them. I'm working on something other than CTF, but after that we're hopefully doing some long awaited reworks.

Obviously I don't pretend banners are perfect. I definitely think they are more user friendly than wool (more obviously a flag, can be seen from as far as you can see the player unlike wool), but experienced players can't really appreciate that, and I understand that they care about the gameplay impact. Personally, I don't have any gameplay problems with banners, including F5ing to spot assassins. The only time I'm in the flag room is when I capture, I don't really defend, but I guess there's an impact there too.

Anyways, it's just a waste of time for people to keep mentioning it over and over. We're not undoing it now. The point has been made that some people aren't happy about it. If we have time in the future, we'll consider alternatives.

 

tbh, I think almost all of the problems with banners that I've had are now fixed, so I'm fine with dem.

 

The main problem with banners is the hitbox, it makes it even harder to kill ninja cappers. Btw, plz nerf ninjas enderpearls again, ninja capping by enderpearling before getting the flag is really annoying, especially when you have to focus on the flag, all the time, and a soldier can get past the distracted defense.

 

At this point I wouldn't surprised if wool came back April first at a joke... or you could call it a troll at that point.

 

Fair point. When you do actually have time though, please actually use logic, transparency, and common sense when you make the (likely reversal) change to banners.

You're right, I did kind of straw man you, but I also meant to point out that the change was not intended to please experienced players, but rather to please newer players, whose voices aren't really heard on the forums.

We are definitely not in "update-poverty"... Although it's been a few months since a MAJOR update, the game is still receiving small tweaks, bug fixes, etc.

Well that's just a silly thing to say, lol. It's not Capture the Wool either...

Ok, but your comic sparked the debate. I'm mostly just tired of all the arguing on this topic that has already been resolved so we should just stop posting the threads and if someone does, lock it immediately.

 

Yeah, it does get pretty tedious. The only way to fix it completely would be to remove enderpearls, which i don't see happening.

 

I can't believe all the hate @NomNuggetNom is getting. Its like we transferred all the hate we had for Brittan on to Nom. Brittan was the one who was actually corrupt, but Nom is trying his best to make the community happy.
You can't always get what you want.

 

Because we care about the gamemode.

There's this thing called a vocabulary, you know? It's rather useful.

Who, may I ask, is/was Brittan? Nom is getting hated on because he is the only member staff who actually responds to CTFers, so he is the easiest target. Not that I support it, but that's that. Also, he worked with MCPvP before the merge, so this is mostly MCPvP hate, not Brawl hate.
