Some of you may of noticed how much In-game Chat Flame there is. Most arguments are started by silly things like being 'cheaply killed' or doing something 'cheap'. This has been happening not every day but most days for a while now and it is getting rather annoying. When this happens usually mods are not on CTF and if you report about Chat Flame mods usually don't come to the server. Imagine you were starting out on CTF asking what to do and you see arguments all the time happening. I would be put of the server immediately. Meaning that the player base would drop and drop and this is one of the reasons people leave. The Community.

If everyone was nicer in game I'm pretty sure more people would play. So my idea.

    Chat Mods

On McPvP CTF had 1 EU and 1 US Chat mod. I suggest we get a few Chat mods for CTF. Yes JMODs could be classed as Chat Mods but a Chat Mod needs to be actively checking chat for any flame wars and things like that. So thanks for reading.

Chat mods were essentially jmods. Like you got chat mod prior to being promoted to a modplus.

That is already a important part of the JMod duties.

Problem is, if someone isn't good enough to become a regular moderator, they won't become a JMod. Some people could be a bad moderator (for example, bad report accuracy), but could be a good chat moderator.

If RandyPlayer123 was really trustworthy, mature, active and had a smashing app, but had a report accuracy of 30%, they wouldn't be a good moderator therefore wouldn't become a JMod, but they could be good enough to be a chat mod. Although the ranks would be very similar, I think it'd be good to have a rank designed for just moderating chat rather than a "stepping stone" to become a mod.

That is incorrect, the report accuracy is absolutely irrelevant for becoming a JMod.
Having some knowledge about hacks is required, but you really don't need to be an expert at detecting them.

Report accuracy shows that you have knowledge about hacks - that's the only reason I used that as an example. Chat mods should require any knowledge about hacks, as they won't need to ban anyone and most likely won't be promoted to a rank that is required to ban people.

I think I know some persons who usually start a flame war -not mentioning names to not start one on this forum-

You wording suggested that you do not consider dealing with flame in chat to be a JMod duty. Could you provide further reasons why we need chat mods?

    And its not you

I think if you played CTF you'd see the amount of arguements and would be wondering why there isn't mods checking it

I think what's being suggested here is adding extra "staff" to brawl that aren't required to meet the same standards as other staff members, because all they will be required to do is mute people who are toxic.

I always try to stop flame if I can, but I agree this flame really needs to stop... The flame shows new players that flaming is the right way to behave, which is very wrong

That's a duty of a Jmod for example.

I'm really not sure what this would achieve. Both Mods and Jmods alike try their best to monitor chat, yet we usually don't mute for things like, "cheap kill" unless they're doing it excessively, which would be flame. I don't think having more chat mods would be the solution to this, because CTF already way more mods than any other specific server on Brawl.

That's not the topic of discussion here. We know that this is also the duty of a Jmod, but this thread suggests more needs to be done.
Maybe their best isn't enough. There are still incidents of flame going on when there isn't a mod or Jr. mod online. Also this doesn't have to be a CTF specific change. StarZBlueZ already mentioned on this thread that it isn't a CTF specific problem so maybe chat mods could make a nice brawl addition.
