Justin Bieber is a decent artist who's been held back by the circle jerk created about his early songs (which, written by a 13 year old, were admittedly kinda bad) and some of his questionable actions a few years ago (drugs, drunk driving, being a self-entitled prick).

He's infamous for Baby, which deservedly has a Sith's Lightsaber for a Like/Dislike Bar. But he wrote that himself, at the age of 13 or something. Scooter Brown (I think?) picked him up because he saw potential. And yeah, rough first few years, but his potential is being realized now. Even some of his earlier songs weren't really that bad, but were made fun of for having pop elements that many other pop songs of the time had because "lol Bieber".

People liked to hate Bieber because he was a successful teen who wrote a bad song and sang a few bad songs too. And then hating him became the "cool" thing to do. Well now he's a successful adult who sings some pretty decent songs. And even now, there's still a sizeable crowd who like to make fun of him. If you listen to some of his more recent songs without the circlejerk mentality of "lol Bieber", you might like him a little better.

Are songs like Sorry or What Do You Mean necessarily masterpieces that will be remembered throughout the ages? Maybe not, but they're certainly fairly catchy and memorable songs. Even Baby was catchy, though in a bad way.

He sings/sang decently, much better than most people his age. Is he aided by auto tune? Yeah, but most artists are. He's certainly not bad singing live. He's not Adele, he's not Sam Smith, but he's good enough to sing his style of music.

Justin Bieber's not a bad artist. If you really genuinely don't like his songs, that's fine, but I can guarantee a large amount of this community hasn't really listened to his songs with genuine thought, and I suggest you try out his songs when you get the chance. If after a few minutes you really want to stab your ears out, then I can't stop you, but you might start to appreciate him more.

Okay, in all seriousness, I was being a little sarcastic, but I truly think that JB isn't as bad of a singer as people like to say he is. Take a look at his more recent music without the mentality of "JB is a bad singer" and you might actually enjoy it.
