Assassin Placeholders

    I want to keep them, I timed myself on blackout and it took 12 seconds so get to the enemies flag from our spawn with the glass and 14.5 without the glass. You can also get to places only ninjas and soldiers can get to also, which is another good thing. I think they should keep it. You also use your assassinate more because of the no fall damage and fire resistance, so you can use the glass to escape situations where you used it without hitting anyone. It makes me feel like an engie, easy to get around people and avoid taking damage.

    Some people like it. Some people hate it. Is is really that hard to add a few things to the code so you can toggle it? I would be happier if you removed the instakill than I am right now about this. It's the little things like this that bother me. They drive me absolutely insane!

    Also, I don't think we're supposed to block glitch with the glass, right?

    Also, the no fall damage and fire resistance are not new?

    how exactly am I block glitching? I am using the glass to my advantage. I have used the engie glass since it came out, and nobody has told me not to do it, I just get called a hacker and a noob because its very hard for people to actually hit me.

    I agree with the removal of those glass panes. Most skilled assassin are used to the switching of sword and redstone. This changes everything and removes that skill. Please fix this...

    Most people that main Assassin are used to the rotation of the redstone. It's a natural thing and if you take it away, it's really hard to get used to it.

    Also,
    that's exactly what block glitching is lol, it's giving you an unfair advantage towards others

    You mean the skill of the sword automatically moving for you when activating Redstone???

    It's like you guys try and find stuff to complain about

    No we don't mean that. We mean the skill of knowing where your items will be when they regenerate because they are put in a different order each time you use your assassinate.

    I have to do that now. The placeholders also look really ugly! I thought brawl was all about fashion over function anyway *cough* banners *cough*.

    I don't understand why this is a big deal. Before: you didn't have to change slots to your sword. After: you don't have to change slots to your sword. The only differnence is that the slots changed back and forth before, but now everything stays the same, which is better anyway for new players.

    The interface for the Assassin itself is fine now imo. No matter how good you are at memorizing rotations of items, the new system is easier, period. 1 is Sword, 2 is Redstone, 3 is Sugar. It removes the need for useless rotations. Even if you're great a memorizing the rotations, it's still a miniscule amount of brain power being used to remember *where your items are*, which shouldn't be a thing. It's artificial difficulty; something that makes the class harder for no reason than to make it harder. It doesn't make it easier to deal with as another class, it just takes more effort to learn a dumb mechanic that shouldn't be a thing.

    The old system was counter intuitive. The new system is better for both new players and old players if they're willing to get used to not having to do extra work.

    The new system also helps with Medics. Too many times with the old system I'd get healed by a Medic which could screw me over.

    One issue I've heard about the new system (but haven't experienced in person) is that when an Assassin right clicks the Redstone, you can see a glass pane for a split second before they switch to the Sword slot, and this makes fakes harder because the enemy will know "pane=real, no pane=fake". But supposedly the game switches your slot to the Sword at the same time as the Redstone becomes a glass pane. I don't think there's an issue there, but if there is I'd suggest that the slot is moved to the Sword and the Redstone turning into a glass pane should happen in the next tick after the Sword is held.

    Are you getting to tell @NomNuggetNom that the system isn't working properly or are you telling @blackfurrukitty that they shouldn't have that problem due to Nom's fix?

    Okay, I made it so that you switch to the sword before the redstone turns into a glass pane. No need for anything more complicated :stuck_out_tongue:.

    @NomNuggetNom thanks, now I think Assassin's HUD and Item system is near perfect. It's not a huge deal, but having the exp bar display how much Assassination time you have (instead of just the 4 seconds of vulnerability) would be convenient as well. And having a number attached to the exp bar for Redstone cooldown.

    Also, were the nerfed kill rewards intentional or a bug? The day of the update I noticed I only got 1 heart back for a kill, and that I wasn't getting my Redstone back when I non-instant killed people.
