Let's all rant about math.

Civilization would topple and the world would go into mayhem, it would start over like the time of cavemen, I watched too many cartoons/books on what the world would be like without math xD.

 

Math is one of the most universal things, so if you would want to remove it you would have to change the quintessence of the entire universe.
Thats the reason why all the messages sent into space are encoded mathematically: Because we can be sure that the rules of mathematics apply to all planets and species.

 

Thesimcrafter this is one of the stupidest questions I've seen posed in a thread and I've been on the Brawl forums for a long time. I have no idea what the hell you're talking about and I'm wondering what kind of drugs you were doing when you made this post (also, can I have some?)

Math is the most logical thing as humans we can do, without logistics, we would all be blowing bubbles while lions ripped us in half.

Doesn't mean that it's fair for an apothem related problem to have SQRT ****IN' 13 IN IT AS THE ANSWER, YEAH THAT HELPS ME.

 

But math is fun ;o; A world without math is a world without order. We would have to question everything known to an if math was non existent, but then again, perhaps a new, more efficient system is possible, and we just have to discover it.

Math is crucial to the basic understanding and applications of the world and today. Math allows for you to be typing this rant. Regardless of what you're learning currently in math, its purpose is either to improve your thinking (I.E. trouble shooting), teach you basic applications of modern day (A check book), or possibly inspire technology of the future (Matricies, one of the most useless things ever in Algebra 2, is actually what makes google function. Google is a matrix system that sorts data.)

Maths isn't a physical thing. It can't just "not exist". A more realistic question would be "what if humans didn't know what maths was" but if we were dumb enough not to understand that 1+1=2, then we wouldn't be humans, we would be a less intelligent species. Even some animals can figure out if they have one stick and they add another stick, they now have two sticks.

Basically, the question "what if maths didn't exist" is like asking "what's the biggest number"? Maths is a constant in the universe and it's silly to question why things are the way they are, that is, until we master trans-dimensional physics but whatever.

 

What's 9 + 10?

 

If you are concatenating those two numbers then the answer to your query is 910. However if you simply wish to preform basic addition then the answer is clearly 19.
