Hello everyone! I will be going over topics that most guides generally don't cover. If you don't find this guide satisfactory, go watch ZCOZZ's archery guides they will help. Note: this guide is generally geared towards newer players, but it will be covering some more advanced concepts, even if you're experienced, everyone has room to improve. Also, please provide feedback if I missed anything. Enjoy!

    Aiming-

I'm going to assume you know what a bow is, so I'll skip the intro. Aiming is, obviously, incredibly important. So, here are the basic do's and don'ts:
Don't arrow spam- Honestly, I've never seen anyone get massive killstreaks from this. It wastes arrows, doesn't support your team, and doesn't earn you any friends. Too put it simply, if you don't see anyone, don't shoot.
Jumping- Most archers jump when they shoot. This can lead to a more precise shot and can provide a little more elevation if your shots are coming up short. As an archer, it's something that should be practiced.
Hitting Strafers- Quite a few archers make the mistake of tracking a person that's strafing with their bow. It's unreliable and pretty difficult. Since most strafers run in snake-like patterns, it's better to keep your bow aimed straight and wait for the player to walk into your sights. It will take practice, but it is a much easier and effective method. When preformed correctly, this can push your opponent into headshot range, and can be mistaken for aimbot  .
Hitting Soldiers- Like before, you don't track a jumping soldier with your bow. Aim your bow at the point where they will land, jump and shoot. It takes practice to get the timing down but this skill is very important, so practice it often.
FDV- As far as I've seen, this has never been covered. If you want to be an archer main, knowing what FDV is right for you is incredibly inportant. I keep my FDV on 95, but that's just me. FDV changes how high you have to aim when shooting. If your shots are always short, raise your FDV. It'll take trial and error, but finding your perfect FDV will give you a major accuracy boost.

    Alright, one topic down,

Movement: when trying to play midfield, stay still and camping is not an option. The other team is going to want to kill you, so make sure you are always relocating. Kill about 5-6 people, then move because those people you just killed now want your butt. It's simply fact.

Archer Battles- these are my least favorite part of archery. I generally try to avoid them.
Strafe Pattern: Having a strafe pattern is very important. Most archers keep it complicated to keep losses to a minimum, just go with what works. I have been asked what my strafe pattern is because its apparently it's hard to predict. That's because I don't have one, I just use my adhd to my advantage and move randomly.
Using your head- Predicting strafe patterns can be hard, but try to memorize your opponents pattern. It'll make sniping them much easier.
Playing cheap- Playing cheap, also known as outsmarting someone, is generally frowned upon. Hiding behind walls, shooting someone in the back, etc. I'm going to get some hate for this, but it's true. The whole fighting fair thing is well and good, but if you are new or not and exceptional talent, this isn't much of an option. A new player just isn't going to take an experienced one head on, it won't work. Use your environment, find cover. Flank your opponent. Make up for any lack of skill with brain power and improvisation. This won't earn you many friends, you should only do this if victory is your #1 priority. You can still win in a fair fight, but if you have an advantage, use it.
    Playing objectivly-
Many archers today simply go out to midfield and kill without a purpose. It's rather pointless. Instead, stay closer to your base, shoot the oncoming offense, recover. You'll earn some kills, less deaths, and respect from your teammates. Another great way to get kills is to support the flag carrier. The flag carrier will have tons of people chasing him/her, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. You get tons of kills, a cap for your team, and a friend. I've gotten quite a few friends from helping the flag carrier (@Ducksfan101 <3)
That wraps up this thread! I'm no pro archer, but these are a few you can also ask for advice <3

Would you suggest a midfield Archer or a defensive one? I'm typically a defender, but been trying to branch into midfield safely. Archer is my best role so any advice would be great.

I would suggest playing more defensively, and recovering as much as possible. The role of an archer depends on the needs of the team, but the default role should be defense.
