Forums Maintenance Report

Hello,

Yesterday the forums underwent maintenance to update them to the latest version of our forum software (XenForo). All of our addons have also been updated and fully tested to ensure they are performing properly.

With the update, comes a few changes:

Tapatalk has been disabled and removed.

The addon was only being used by ~12 users a month and provided a plethora of issues.

Useful Links in the forum footer

We removed the "Featured Video" section on the sidebar when viewing the forum list.

It will be re-implemented when we have another YouTube video to share.

We added a "Recent Posts" section on the sidebar when viewing the forum list.

This shows the most 5 recent posts on threads that you are prohibited to view.

Anyone can delete a private conversation message for up to 15 minutes.

This was implemented mainly for users to delete duplicate messages.

New forum users now receive a forum message with tips to starting the forums.

There are also a handful of changes from the Xenforo team:

Wild West VIP+ Closed BETA

Howdy ya'll, and welcome to the BETA Wild West! This server is based off popular games such as Arma: Life, Red Dead Redemption, and Grand Theft Auto. Instead of stealing cars, you'll be on horses and riding into the next drug fight that awaits you. Not only that, but with our 14,000 x 14,000 map, there's endless activities to keep you going!

In the Wild West you can mine for precious gems, go on drug runs with your gang, take and control cartels from others, raid Indian camps, fight sheriffs to the death and more! The main goal of the server is to thrive, stay alive, conquer. You can make money by selling ores, drugs or even selling someones horse! The possibilities are endless in the Wild West.

The server is currently in BETA stage, however, the BETA is not open to everyone. You may access the BETA if you have Global VIP+ or if you purchase a Wild West rank here. (Wild West ranks are currently 15% off and the rank expires 30 days after the official Wild West release date)

We've decided to make this a closed BETA before releasing to the public. This is to find and fix as many bugs as possible in the shortest amount of time.

As said before, this is a BETA. So we ask everyone who has access to please submit any bugs, tweaks, and ideas they have about the server. This will help us improve the server and make it more enjoyable for you guys. Be sure to give detailed information in the Wild West forums below:

Regarding Gift Purchases

Hello Brawlers,

As in the past, we have not prohibited real-world trading or gift purchases with restrictions. However, this is not clearly stated anywhere in-game or on the forums this thread will be addressing those issues.

We do not allow trading of Brawl store purchases for anything from a third party or external source. This includes Minecraft accounts, Counter-Strike skins, money, etc. In addition, you may not trade Brawl store purchases in return for a player to join your in-game clan, give in-game items to you, etc.

Basically, all purchases on the Brawl store should either be for yourself or a pure gift to another player.

We will not switch purchases or return your money if you are making a store purchase in trade for another object. Instead, you will be punished for real world trading. This official rule will be added to the server rules a week from the posting of this thread (2/18/2016).

HG Kits Update

Do you still remember the times when HG updates would come out regularly? Me neither. However, after all these long months has finally come the day to release something new, something big. ALL the kits were recoded, fixed, polished. Particles and sounds have been added. Many underpowered kits have been buffed. For others the time has come to retire.

» Game Element Changes:

Major kit reworks

Fixed Strength potion effect

Late joining as VIP+ has been fixed

Added string recipe: 1 wool = 4 strings (for Trapper kit mainly)

Huge mushroom blocks will drop 1-2 mushrooms at all times, even if not holding an axe.

» Major Kit Changes:

Demoman chain reactions are now possible

Cuddler gives Strength I & Resistance I for 5 seconds, and replenishes food bar, but has a cooldown of 30 seconds

Explorer has been fixed and is now playable!

Grenadier rework: multiple explosions levels, depending on ammo. TNT = huge explosion, firework charge = large explosion, others = normal explosion

Lifeline gives Speed II & Regeneration II for 5 seconds, and replenishes food bar, but has a cooldown of 10 seconds (no more offensive lifeline)

Madman effect only triggers when 2 or more players are nearby

Reaper can give either Slowness, Weakness or Wither for 10 seconds but has a cooldown of 20 seconds

Rhino now has an instant charge ability which projects nearby entities, but has a cooldown of 20 seconds

Souper receives 4.5 hearts/food (instead of 3.5) when souping, and cooldown is now constant and lowered to 10 seconds

» Notable Kit Changes:

Archer: killing an entity (not a player) will drop 150% of normal loot

Array starts with 5 beacons that when placed give Regeneration III. Healing array can also be destroyed

Assassin no longer occupies your helmet slot, uses particles instead

Chameleon can destroy mob eggs by dropping them, and the cooldown when hit is reduced to 3 seconds

Chemist can no longer throw negative potions during invincibility

Cultivator will spawn huge trees when possible (try it out!)

Dwarf can project all mobs

Frosty no longer replenishes hunger but drops +1 snowball

Rework of Gambler’s effects + cool lottery effect

Gladiator arena remains until a player dies, and no longer requires the Gladiator to be hit by at least 2 players to start

Grappler can grapple downwards but is limited to 150 uses

Ghost is invisible and can fly in spirit mode, and doesn’t need to be close to the body to return to it

Hades players will no longer be attacked by mobs

Hulk can pickup all mobs and cooldown is reduced to 3 seconds

Hunter ability now also works with sheep & rabbit, and drops 4 cooked items instead of 2

Jellyfish water deals Poison II for 2 seconds

Kangaroo has a stronger horizontal jump but is limited to 150 uses

Kaya can place gravel and sand without updating it

Log items go directly to Lumberjack’s inventory, and receives Speed II for 5 seconds when destroying logs

Magma no longer takes damage from water + can set all entities on fire for 8 seconds

Necro insta-kills all aggressive mobs

Nightlock soup can’t be differentiated from normal soup and causes 3 to 13 damage when food bar empty, 1 to 11 otherwise

Pickpocket has up to 10 seconds to steal items (max. 6) and can take items from hotbar except the one the victim is holding

Poseidon explicitly gives Strength II and can’t drown at all

Pyro’s fireballs explode and set all nearby entities on fire, and attacks deal 130% damage to entities on fire

Rider has a max travel distance of 100 blocks

Salvager: everyone can use the anvil

Scorch has 50 seconds of usage time

Spectre: reversed sugar and redstone items

Spiderman creates a 3x3x3 web box that lasts for 5 seconds

Suppressor: arrows cause 3 hearts of damage + minor buff tweaks

Tank: explosions caused by killing entity are way bigger

Timelord: cooldown reduced to 30 seconds + players can’t enter frozen area

Titan: no longer need to block with your sword to charge, only crouch

Trapper: not limited to this kit, but added string recipe

Urgal: receives 3 Strength + Resistance potions that last for 1 minute

Vulture: multiple people can’t bet on the same person anymore + update death book format

Warder: cooldown lowered to 45 seconds

Wisp: fixed clones AI

Woolymorph: cooldown reduced to 20 seconds

Santa kit has been disabled (will be revamped next Christmas).

Nope, not yet. We still want to add some big game changes before calling the gamemode out of beta. These would include: feasts revamp, weather events, and of course stats.

HG Feasts Update

Aaand here we are, 2 weeks after the biggest HG update. One step at the time we're getting out of beta. Last time we were talking about kits, now it's about feasts - and kit fixes, as always. If you are interested in the details and the theory, I invite you to check this post.

» Game Element Changes:

Complete feasts revamp:

Feast platform is bigger (radius of 30 blocks, previously 23);

Added different feast themes, depending on the biome in which it spawns. Current themes are: plains, desert, snow and nether (more to come);

Chests are dispersed throughout the platform;

The enchantment table can now create better enchants, with the help of the bookshelves (which can be destroyed to adjust the results);

Chests contain more and better loot;

At the moment the feast is placed, players located on the platform are teleported at the edge.

The forcefield no longer shrinks and doesn't deal any damage, unless you somehow get outside (more to come next week);

Lowered pre-game waiting times: servers will take between 10 and 20 minutes to start. Will likely be reduced even more.

» Major Kit Changes:

Fixed Surprise kit;

Added Monster kit;

Reverted Snail and Viper;

Changed Kangaroo and Grappler uses count to 150 (previously 100);

» Other Kit Changes/Fixes:

Thors can break blocks with their axe;

Gladiator arenas are now effectively inescapable;

Backup inventory is no longer cleared when selecting the new kit;

Re-added Kangaroo fall damage reduction;

Fixed Endermage teleportation & endless invincibility bugs

Fixed Pickpocket item duplication glitch;

Fixed Gambler's infinite clicking & iron armor reward;

Re-added Jackhammer downwards digging and increased digging speed;

Redstoner now receives 8 TNTs at the start of the game;

Fixed Spirit invincibility;

Fixed Tarzan vines despawning;

Burrower slime balls now also show the remaining uses as the item amount;

Dwarf ability doesn't trigger if there are no entities around;

Fixed Levitator & Grenadier shots power;

Rhino projections make victims jump a lot higher;

Grenadier charge-up time reduced to 2 seconds (previously 3);

Kaya traps will keep working even if the block is turned into soil. Note that in order to create the trap, you need to place a grass block. The trap will stay valid even if the block is turned into dirt, mycel or soil.

- Fixed radius detection for the following kits: Array, Dwarf, Endermage, Kangaroo, Madman, Rogue, Spellmaster, Timelord.

A new kind of rating has been introduced, which can be given exclusively by staff members. These rating will be used by staff members who see an extremely impressive post by other members of the community, and will be given out rarely by the staff. It's a great achievement if you get one!

At the top of the forums next to the "Home" and "Forums" tabs. By clicking on this, you will immediately view the latest development logs and announcements, rather than having to navigate your way through the forums to find them.

Along with the new shop payment types, we have gave the shop a face-lift with a whole new style. It was about time as we've been using the same shop styling for about 2 years now.

A continuation of the @MR_EVIL_OVERLORD / @Lightwielder saga.

The sun shone starkly against the gas mask that stuck fast to my sweat drenched face. My dissaembler hung at my side, the wreckage of the Black Hills command station burning behind me as horrific undead began spilling out into the desert.

I squinted up into the sky, my breath fogging against the gas mask, as a plane shot by overhead. Thinking little of it I returned to my efforts of getting to the little fire base I had set up with my team of fellow infiltrators only hours prior. It was then that I noticed the glint of a metallic shape screaming down the skyline in my direction.

Quickly I spirited for a nearby dune, rolling behind it to avoid any sort of fire I might have been in danger of. I crawled quickly to the lip of the dune and looked through the scope of my rifle. The shape was humanoid, but was diving toward the earth at impossible speeds. It landed with an audable thud, a huge explosion of sand rippling from the impact. I continued observing through the scope.

The figure rose slowly, standing on metal feet. As the sand and dust cleared, I could see that it was some sort of robot or drone shaped like a human. This observation was obliterated as soon as it began moving, far to fluid to be a humanoid bot. It seemed then to be a sort of shell or armor, and was absolutely armed to the teeth. I decided to duck down behind my makeshift cover and see what it was doing.

In hindsight I should have assumed that it had some sort of advanced optics, as in only a few seconds I heard a metallic, distorted voice come from it.
"Jk, is that you?". I winced, hearing my old name again, and inched my way around the dune, not responding. "I can see you perfectly, don't try hiding" it added, I could hear it step with purpose toward my dune, whirring electronics supporting its weight. Knowing I couldn't do much more, I gritted my teeth and rose, readying my weapon and leveling it at the seam between the neck and the chest, what I hoped was a chink in the machine's armor. "Stop! Right there!" I shouted over the wind, through the gas mask, "one more step and you die!". I was exhausted, I had no fight in me, but whatever this armored person wanted it wasn't peace, not juding from the array of weapons brisling across its surface.

The facial area of the shell opened and slid aside, revealing overlord's half-smiling face. "Jk, I'm not here to hurt you, I'm here to take down this infection. Don't try anything please". I growled a little under my breath, shifting and backing up a little, but not moving my gun from his neck, "don't move" I warned, "why should I trust you? You tried to capture me, to brainwash me back into your little.. Band of.." My voice trailed off, not knowing what to say. Overlord did though, "evil?", his smile widened, taking a metallic step toward me, "we only look out for ourselves and each other, it's a good deal. Come on".
"No" I replied calmly, "I am Lightwielder, I am above you". Again, somehow, his smile widened, "you weren't before, what changed?". My eyes searched his, he wasn't trying anything, he was genuine. Memories of our heroic stands against our enemies, cutting down swathes of undead in the last outbreak, came flooding back and my gun lowered an inch.

"I can't fight you" I realized as I said it. "And neither can I", overlord added, taking another step forward.I am Lightwielder, and Overlord was with me against the world again. My gun dropped to my side with a thud and I sat hard on the hot sand. "I have a mission" he said through the mask that had fallen back onto his face, "will you help? Or are you going to wander the desert some more?". I chuckled, holding my dissaembler in my hands, "no Overlord, I'll help you. Another common enemy to take down together?"
"Correct" he said as he helped me to my feet, "let's go get'em"

Putty never made a staff application, on top of that Factions is a vanilla-based server, meaning it probably took less time to setup. I don't know which came first, but giving how Putty made videos on faction server and... well everyone is going with War so why not go the opposite direction .
