Idea Spectator mode?

thats a great idea! I would love to be able to spectate matches, it could automatically put you on the server as a spectator if you are not on a special list (like the whitelist)...
Help to work on that ref rank everyone wants...

^ ye, there already is a spectate mode that mods use to ref matches n stuff (I've seen a couple of @wintergreen3's spectated matches too). The thing is a lot simpler than it could be, it's mainly just finding a way to sign people up to spectate matches and giving them spectator mode n such. Maybe you'd have to mute their chat though, unless there's a no-team default chat?

 

Add a 'popcorn mod' to this and I'm all in. +1

I agree, this would be cool. It could help players who are new to teams understand what matches are like (though I've never been in a match myself).

 

The third team could just be not having a team (like what used to happen in Brawl Beta ), and there's a Vanish mode that will remove you both from sight and from the tab list. I think I heard that ninja's redstone does the same thing, someone correct or confirm if you can. And then the no-clip I'm sure can be given to people via command.

I prefer toffee popcorn. I also think that to spectate you need the team rep's permission.

@pookeythekid Yes, there are default "no team" chats. Ninja's redstone makes you invisible in tab and in game, yes.
@__Medic__ I know for a fact that an admin could assign spectator mode. It seems logical that a dev could too, but I'm not sure about that.
@sportyman56 Last time I heard anything about spectating, you would need permission from both team reps, and the ref of the match. I don't think that there have ever been many spectators in matches, however. It adds another couple of things the mod/ref needs to watch out for.
