Idea Assassin Rework?

    this is not a fully completed idea in any way, I just wanted to propose it as a possible mechanic for the new assassin as I have heard some more ideas would be cool.

    First off: I'm not trying to remove the instakill. I don't see how this should work if assassin should stay the class to clear a flagroom or to kill a well-protected flag carrier. If you don't instakill, you can't fulfill these roles because it simply takes too long to deal the necessary damage.

    Basically all it is: be vulnerable before your instakill. Have a certain timespan to be killed before you can actually kill. Aware flag carriers can hit you and kill you, but if you're good, you can dodge hits (remember, speed boosts). Aware defense players can hit you and kill you - if they're mobile. This makes pyro and dwarf more likely to die to assassins if they're holding their bow drawn or just can't reach you quickly enough.

    Problems I see with this idea: aerials. You can't really be hit mid-air. Possible solution: make assassination require two hits, one to activate the vulnerability & assassination process and one to actually assassinate.
    Another problem: speed 3 is probably a bit hard to hit reliably. Possible solution: nerf speed boost when assassination active.

    What's to stop people from using their Assassinate, waiting, then running in/performing aerials?

    I don't think speed boost should be nerfed.
    Speed boost gives assassin a ton of utility and even just nerfing it to speed 2 is really big because 1. Speed boost is assassin's main escape option or chase option and 2. Speed boost allows assassins to kill light armored classes because of how hard it is to hit.

    As an assassin main, I think this so far is one of the best reworks I've seen (not removing instakill is very important) and I support this rework. I think the fact that you need to think before assassinating will make assassin a class that needs a lot of thought and planning and this would be a positive change for assassin.

    One suggestion I have (from a different rework) is to give assassin passive regeneration like ninja. This would make assassin last longer if it takes hits from random people around the map and promote the idea of assassin being a class that makes the player think than a class which can randomly instakill.

    As an assassin is very sneaky beaky like maybe their could be added a gadget like every 3-5 times he hits an enemy he gets one heart restored or even steals one from the enemy so the enemy cant just camp blocking and assassin is not countered that easily while blocking over minutes

    I think 3-5 hits for 1 heart is a bit much and half a heart every hit would be adequate.

    I'd like to point out my speed boost nerf, as also stated in the original post, only applies with assassination active.
