W.I.P. [100%] Gym

    CTF Map Submission
    Gym was originally supposed to be based off of the Unova dragon town (which duck and I never completely knew the name of) and we just decided to make a whole new town from pokemon. As you can see the map is seriously bland in most areas and are open for work and improvement. I'm posting this extremely prematurely so that i can build off of ideas from the community and fix off of live criticism.

    Width 138 length 240 (after flip)

    Disclaimers and counter arguments
    Solder - There may be many trees, but being only 7 blocks high makes it easy to knock soldiers off the map making Gym more preferable over maps with tall and mountainous edges. Though they can camp on top of the spawn or flag room, there is almost no cover on top of either surface that makes it easy to headshot soldiers.

    Pyro - There are 4 water sources inside the flagroom, and currently 3 in midfield. I plan on adding more once I've filled in the empty spaces.

    Archer - Obviously there is not enough cover to counter the archers yet, what cover I've already added is flagroom cover and housing (I know, not enough). I do not plan to add an underground which means archer may be overpowered on this map unless I add more cover which i plan to do when something neat pops into my mind.

    Ninja - Yes, I know it's pretty simple to ghost cap with this flagroom, but is it not that way for most maps? It's really up to the defense on the game to prevent ghost capping at this point.

    Necro/Engineer - I know theres plenty of room to place down engineer and necro items, but that will be fixed later once i've got more filler ideas.

    I like it so far. Maybe add some sponges at the trees to make it a little ''less'' soldier OP. Otherwise I'm really looking forward to the finished result.

    Trees look kind of the same every time add some taller ones maybe? idk

    They are all meant to be the same because in most pokemon games, central towns and cities have trees surrounding that are all the same

    I love the buildings but it's waaaay too flat! If you stop being so faithful to the original and maybe make it a more generic, hilly Pokemon town, it's much more likely to be considered. Gameplay takes priority over aesthetics!

    The mounds of dirt in the flag room irk me for some reason. Does that have anything to do with Pokemon? If not, I would suggest putting crates instead.

    P.S. The map looks amazing! :smile:

    In certain gyms or battlefields have terrain somewhat like this but I could try it out

    I have acquired some feedback from someone and suggested to remove the large mountain or make it a flip mountain. Before I do anything I would like to know if anyone else has suggestions before moving on.

    It's too flat so far. Maybe some trees or rocks or something. But it looks good so far!

    I'd make the trees a bit more different than each other. It doesn't need to be that different, maybe just changing a block or two. Also, the actual battle grounds can have a bit more depth? It's a bit flat now, and adding some height will be good :smile:

    Other than those things^^ I really like this map, especially because it's a pokemon themed map ;o

    + Plenty of easter eggs and heads

    Really I am about now closing this project and putting it to a 100% because I am pretty busy with other projects and can't focus too much on this one. I will take in feedback still but I will only be going back to this every now and then. Here are images of the map after the flip (I will add them to the thread). I hope you like it, I understand the middle might require some more cover, but I am fairly lost on what to do there.

    Looks awesome. Shame I wont get many references and easter eggs though, as I'm guessing that as its loosely based off Unova (yep, never seen any of Unova... or pretty much any region but Kalos lol. wow Deps u 6th gen anime skrub)
