I disagree with the no chance of recovery. I've recovered many ninja steals and have also been brutally murdered as ninja half way or more to our flag (sad life)

I've stolen the flag as ninja and ghosted plenty of time, and many of those times I didn't make it back. YOU CAN RECOVER THE FLAG. You just have to be quick and aware of your surroundings. Chase the flag holder. Ninja cappers have to stop and heal in order to not die from pearl damage. Use it to your advantage. Can't reach the flag holder? Run towards their base and wait for them there. HS them while they're healing. Keep medics from reaching them. CTF is a cooperative game. No one on defense? How about you play the humble role of flag defender while you wait for others to join the game. Take on the role of mid fielder. You can get A LOT of Ninjas there. Start getting creative with the game. Experiment with news techniques. Break free from the old ways of playing and evolve.

That moment when it takes 4-5 hits to kill a blocking ninja and they still cap.

 

But, we are pros, we know how to deal with this. Ninja capping basically turns off any new people from wanting to stay cause they are on the opposite team. Its really bs when you think about it. Ninjas only need 1.5 seconds to ghost cap when it was made for recovery, not specifically capping. Ninjas are op enough as it is, if the maps as short as say blackout to standoff then a 1.5 distraction from an enemy swarm and a ninja can easily get away. Ninja capping is so bad that dwarf is more used in defense now to combat ghost cappers. How about you look in the shoes of a noob seeing this. Maps like ships/blackout/etc are heavily known for ghost capping, and they used to be instacapping.

 

Or do what most ninjas do. Ghost as ninja, drop flag near spawn, /medic = won game

I've been saying this since i came back. The point you have to stare at the flag all the time is absurd and broken. I legit think that enemy ninjas cannot use enderpearls with the enemy flag or near it. That would halt ghost capping entirely and have ninjas do what every other class has to do, run along the map. Now, this isnt a perf nerf, but this isnt an idea topic.

I agree with your comment pizze. I try not to ghost cap, ninja capping on the other hand is completely find. Difference is timing of using enderpearl. Ghost capping is throwing an enderpearl before you throw the flag so the second you get it your halfway across the map. Ninja capping is using enderpearl after you get flag and not throwing it before you get it. I find the second one more fair.

 

As someone who mains recovery, I can say ninja caps are complete bull ****.
The only way to really counter a successful steal is immediately pearl toward their flag. If you aren't ninja, you have almost no hope of recovering. Even if you are able to follow them, your chances of recovery are slim. You really have to be right behind them, but even if you are, the slightest bit of support and that cap is theirs.

In addition, if you are defending in the flagroom and they ghost cap, gg, because you can't hope to follow that up. At least with a prema you can follow the pearl and kill them when they land.

 

This is why we need defending engineers in our lives. Only bull**** stops bull****. Its a proven fact.

 

Then be aware of your opponents and see who would most likely would pull a ghost cap off. Not hard to recover from one, especially when they start pearling and dealing damage to themselves. Furthermore, it's even more easier when you deal damage to them when they're waiting to pick up the flag before their pearl lands.
