Hardcore Games v1.0 - Out of Beta!

After many months of work, we have finally gotten the Hardcore Games out of beta. In doing this, we have changed the game immensely, based off of community feedback and ideas we have received. Without further ado, let's get to the changelog!

» Stats Tracking:
- The game now automatically tracks your stats! The stats from McPVP are not taking in count; everyone's back to zero. The following stats are tracked: kills, deaths, wins, losses, time played, top 10 games, best position. We are currently working on adding a stats page on the website, but for now you can use the /profile command to check your stats or someone else's.

Note: we still have the stats from McPVP but have decided not to merge them with the new ones.

» New Kits:
- The 3 following kits were added to the game! They are currently in preview mode; only VIPs+ will be able to try them out in the following week. They will be after that available in the shop for everyone.

Toolmaster

You start off with a special, unbreakable wooden pickaxe. When you right-click it, it becomes successively a wooden axe, a wooden shovel, and back to a pickaxe. The tool is enchanted with Efficiency II and is unbreakable. In fact, all of your gear is unbreakable; the armor you wear and the weapons you use in combat don't take ANY damage!

Philosopher

You start the game with a special gem which has a unique ability: right-clicking it will turn 12 iron ingots from your inventory into 1 diamond! Use it to craft superior loot, even before the Feast!

Airdrop

You start with a airdrop signal. Right-click it to summon an airdrop, which will fall from the sky and land as a chest filled with loot right next to you. The items are random, and can vary from food to iron ingots, and even to golden apples if you are lucky enough! You start with 1 airdrop use, and receive an additional one each time you kill a player.

New Server Media Ranks

Hello Brawlers,

We've heard your need for ranks that provide media producers premium perks on the server and we're here to satisfy you. We are introducing two new ranks, YT and TWITCH. These two ranks are for the community members who produce media on either platform. The ranks inherit the premium features from our ELITE rank and are globally applied across all of the servers.

We want community members to be able to put up media showing off how awesome Brawl is while we return the favor back to them. This means that we will be promoting your media in-game, on the website, and on our social media. You promote us, we promote you; sounds pretty fair.

As for all ranks, we have to set the following requirements...
For the YT rank:
♦ 6,000 subscribers & 1,000 average video views
♦ At least one Brawl video already posted

In order to keep the rank:
♦ Actively posting Brawl videos
♦ Maintaining 1,000 average video views

For the TWITCH rank:
♦ 1,000 followers & 20 average viewers
♦ At least one Brawl stream already performed

In order to keep the rank:
♦ Actively streaming Brawl
♦ Maintaining 20 average viewers

For both ranks:
♦ Acting responsibly, maturely, and respectfully.
♦ Content is not botted or boosted.
♦ Player history is taken into account.

New Game Released: Wild West

Howdy y’all. Are you interested in an open-world, RPG shooter gamemode? Then the newest addition to Brawl.com is the place for you to be. This gamemode is based off popular games such as Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto, and Arma: Life. Instead of stealing cars and driving around in huge cities, you’ll be on horses and travel back and forth from a wide range of towns, mines, farms and more in our custom built 14,000 x 14,000 block map.

What is Wild West?
Wild West is an open-world server with economy and PvP aspects where the main goal is to thrive, stay alive, and conquer. With money you can buy horses, train tickets, equipment and much, much more. There are several ways to earn money, for example selling ores and drugs, but always keep an eye out for enemies as you can never know what you will stumble upon in the Wild West. If it’s either a rabid tribe of Indians or a gang of ruthless bandits. To fight these threats off you can equip yourself with our custom coded guns which can be bought in all towns; just make sure you have enough ammunition.

You also have the possibility to join and create teams and, similarly to other games, you can have your own house in the towns. With your compass you can easily navigate your way across the map. Apart from this you can go on drug runs with your gang, take and control cartels from others, raid indian camps and more.

Just remember that selling drugs is an illegal act in the Wild West society so always watch out for sheriffs. If you're unfortunate they might arrest you and send you to prison. The possibilities are endless in the Wild West, so what are you waiting for? Take your horse and ride into the sunset - the next adventure is just around the cliff. Yeeee haw!

Wiki Team Applications - Round 5

Hi Brawlers,

We are looking for members who are interested in assisting us with our ever growing Brawl Wiki. The Wiki has grown to be too much for the staff to handle, as they are focused on other things such as server moderation. We would love to see what our community can do to help us.

We are looking for members who are capable of writing well-written, professional articles and have a good sense of design. We want to make the wiki appealing and easy to understand. It is vital you have a good knowledge and understanding of the Brawl servers.

If you are interested in joining the Wiki Team you will be required to do a number of jobs including:

Regularly updating the wiki to comply with server updates

Update outdated wiki information

Adding and designing new wiki pages

Writing content for new servers

Ensure all wiki articles contain correct information

Making sure all wiki pages have the same layout

Correct any grammar or spelling mistakes on the wiki

Note: At times this role may be very time consuming so it is essential you have enough free time to be able to complete your job.

Wiki Team members will be required to be in a Wiki Team Slack discussion and will be given a forum rank titled "Wiki Team" with a badge under your username. This does not give you any extra powers on the forums other than access to the wiki.

Hardcore Games Tribute Tournament - Summary

Hello Brawlers,
We are a bit late, but here is the summary of the Tribute Tournament! We couldn't post it earlier because the death match of the No-Soup tournament had to be redone because of a few problems with the servers.

First, we apologize for all the issues regarding the plugin and the server performance during both tournaments. Because of all the unique arena features this was very complicated to code and unfortunately a few issues and bugs slipped by. We will make sure to avoid these mistakes in future.

But now to the winners!

On No-Soup we had a rather small event with only 38 players, however, they still delivered an intense match lasting over an hour. Unfortunately a bug killed all five participants of the death match so we had to redo it.

Leaderboard Improvements
The website leaderboards have received a well needed update in the month of March. The leaderboards now display every single server in the Brawl universe. Along with that, Capture the Flag and Wild West have 1 day, 7 day, and 30 day leaderboard lookup options. They are a little slow to load right now, but we are still working on improving this. My take on how it would literally be to be an mc-war soldier. Dying, but never dying. Killing, but never killing. I'll see if you guys like this enough to want me to take another look at the story.

"Sir you need to calm down, sir... Sir!" A blood encrusted soldier shook the other, hyperventilating mess that had just risen from the grave.
"No... Please. Not another life.. Let me die!" The recently revived coughed out, breath ragged as his body forcefully pulled itself out of the infinite silence beyond life.
"I can't do that sir, we're about to loose control of Crossfire, sir you need to get up!" The badge on the first soldier's torn and singed uniform read 'Joahn'. Something shifted in the officer, a resignation in his eyes. His uniform hung from his frame like a shell, the cloth carried scars of life after life, death after death. His name tag, if it could still be read, would have shown the name 'markus'. Markus stood up slowly, looking around, drawing a sigh of relief from Johan. The room contained shards of wood, stone, and spent bullets. Smoke hung in the room, already long staining the two men with its black fingers.
Sound hit Markus next. An explosion, another, gunfire, screams, hoarse officers shouting orders through bullets, smoke, and blood. The weight of war returned to the man, almost driving him back into his sudden madness. He had died too many times to count, it never got easier.
"Johan, my weapon?" He looked around, not seeing anything but the sidearm clipped to his belt, his tried and true magnum.
"I'm sorry sir, your weapon was lost to stray automatic fire in the firefight that took you out, I dragged you into this building while you revived. Here, I took this off one of the pre-Rez hostiles that rushed our position". Johan unhooked a beaten, dirt covered M16 and handed it to his commander meekly.
"This will do until we get back to our command center, let's go" Markus checked the safety, flicking it off. The two soldiers slowly rose over one of the battered windows, shattered glass cracking under their boots. A battered mess of a soldier groaned quietly nearby, half obliterated by a hostile Demolisher, slowly healing while still conscious. Johan winced before returning his attention to the long sightline between them and their adversaries. An explosion of wood showered them as a hostile sniper took a shot, grazing Markus's helmet.
"Now Johan, go. I'll give you some covering fire" the officer hissed at the other, hoisting his weapon over the lip of the now further damaged window, his burst of bullets causing resounding statements toward their target. Three such bursts hurled themselves at the place Markus had seen the muzzle flash from. Markus hunkered down hard as several other locations opened fire on him. A short roll got the officer out of the way from flying drywall and wood splinters, the sound jarring him possibly worse than the near death situation. After the sound of Johan's boots and the gunfire of the M16 ceased, crushing silence filled the space between buildings. This was when Markus moved, refilling his magazine before bursting out of cover toward where Johan had hunkered down, now deploying a mobile comms system.
From three separate angles Markus was fired upon. A bullet caught him in the arm, another in the leg, his breath and pounding boots keeping him going. Sliding into the last few yards, the officer finally gasped, crying out at the horrible pain radiating from his leg. Fortunately for him, his armor had protected his arm from the stray fire, so he had only one bullet wound to contend with. This was enough to rattle him into disorientation again however, causing a sudden coughing breath again to grip his lungs.
"This is Johan, forward offensive unit, we've been wiped out. Our soldiers have been severely wounded by Demolisher fire, we need evac as soon as possible!". A faint voice returned an affirmative, which was an excellent sign for him and his officer's survival. Johan smiled, almost able to hear the whirring chopper blades coming swiftly to take them out of the sea of quietly suffering bodies. He hoped he wouldn't be sent on another mission in a while, he didn't want to add another death to his experiences, four was more than enough. A sharp sound snapped him out of his stupor. He was reminded that his commander was injured behind him so, hoping to bring some light to the situation he began,
"Hear that commander? We're getting out of..." Johan turned, his face falling, "here...". A smoking hole replaced his commander's left eye, his hand curled into a clawed, bloody mess that he had apparently tried to hold himself together with. Johan looked up, toward the red uniformed soldier standing before him.
"Another kill to my name, another death to your pathetic blue army" he snarled, popping a spent sniper round out of his weapon. Johan's eyes followed the smoking cartridge as it fell into the dust and dirt around them.
"Night night" was the last thing Johan's three hundredth life ever heard.

I really enjoy making even somewhat thought prevoking stuff so the horror our Minecraftians must be going through, dying over and over again, was what spurred that short story.
It's great practice for my novel anyways
