Disclaimer: this has to be the most media I've used in a single post. Anywhere. Which is not saying much because I don't use social media anyway, discounting YouTube.

Although I generally am rather trash at capturing flags, I will say that a few minutes ago I was rather disappointed by the sheer impossibility of capturing flags in a particular game on Night Raid II. A large portion of the reasons for this is due to the following.

    2016-04-25_16.11.47.png

And for a little extra fun, here's what happened immediately after taking that picture:
    2016-04-25_16.11.50.png (thumbnail to save space)

See that one cap on the scoreboard? That one cap was achieved by a ninja. Thanks to ninja's garbage ability to ghost cap, that one capture was made possible. Other than that, no matter how many medics, heavies, soldiers, chemists, or non-ghosting ninjas anyone threw at each other's defense, hardly anyone could so much as steal the flag, let alone capture it. The unfortunate truth is...
    crowdedgamememe.jpg

Now I would like eight to nine seconds of your time for you to watch this video.

See that? One very full game, another tiny game, then nothing on all of the other three CTF servers. Brawl, you're wasting your server host's electricity! I don't know what they charge in Canada, but PG&E here in California is rather expensive. Shoutout to Californians!

Point being, CTFers have a tendency to jam-pack a game full of players simply because that's where the rest of the flow of people is going, and pretty soon you have only three options: 1. play on a way-too-crowded game and have zero fun being headshotted for no particular reason every four steps you take, or otherwise brutally beaten around by enemy defense with no chance of survival; 2. play on a puny little 10-player game where you are the only "regular" CTFer and also have zero fun having zero challenge playing against some people who basically have no clue what a flag is; or 3. don't play CTF in the first place. (Or 4. skrew around on an empty server.) Not very fun.

So here's a bright idea: lower the server limits! Personally, I'd suggest around 30 players, 40 max. This benefits everyone in more than one way. It would remove the tyranny of overcrowded games--50 players seems to be the magic number which fits all regular players in a single game, and also the point at which game play becomes unbearable--as well as make use of the other servers, and even offer a broader selection of certain games with specific maps that players would want to join. You all know what I'm talking about: don't you just love it when the only available game is Ship Battle with 48 players on it? Yeah, thought so.

So please Brawl, for the love of memes, don't ignore this one.

I like ur idea, playing in crowded ctf matches with tons of defence is fuqing annoying All the engis, archers, mages spamming galore. Ctf team matches are so fun because they limit players aswell as classes that make regular ctf boring and hectic. On packed regular-filled ctf servers capping is either a game of luck (hoping flagroom def is gone or just pure lucj u get through), ninja capping , or having a support group (which is hard considering teamwork is almost unheard of of in regular ctf play.
Id say class limitations and a max size of 30-35 would help more. Large games are fun for kill*****s and chat flamers but they are far too chaotic and annoying for ppl like u and I

I agree. I personally hate playing on rounds that have more than 35 people on. It ends up being way too laggy with all the archers, mages, engineers, ect. Not to mention you cant take 5 steps without someone on the enemy team chasing you for 10 minutes trying to kill you.

if a defense with a huge bunch of players is too shtoopid to see that ninja standing there for a second, it's the def's fault

How I take that: so, in a practical sense, not even ninja should be able to cap with such an oversized defense, and therefore large games are broken as I said.

It means oversized games still require skill both on def and on off, at least in the sense of ninja capping. I'd also like to point out it is pretty fun to organize huge offense parties in large matches c:

    I cry inside (both sadness and jealousy) when I'm on the receiving end of a large-game offense party. But in any case it's too rare and people miss out on it ;~;

90% reason why i always play small games

1231092k ping while an average small game is generous enough to give me 300 ping.

I do have to agree... I have been in multiple scenarios where there is a full match, that I'm in or can't join, and if I'm in it, I am getting frustrated by all the people, and if I'm not, most likely the only other server has like 10 people with randee in it (and mabye a random @BrandinoB too). Either scenario isn't really fun as pokey stated, and so I do agree with lowering the max amount of players to at most 40.

I like large games, only when they are organized. This rarely happens, but if you can get 2 medics and a ton of other people to charge with you, than it is REALLY fun. But the reality is that only happens when you are in TS with people, or just happen to have people listen to the chat. I think Brawl should limit to 40 players, and only have only 3 to 4 servers.

As i said before, ghost capping should be removed by a simple code: make ninja unable to pick up flag if their pearl is not in their inventory.

Plautius, you seem to think a defense is perfect, a ninja capper can take full use of a large offense distracting the enemy, therefore a 1.5 second ghost cap is very easy.

I'm taking it you didn't play CTF back in the day when there was 35 people per team, and not everyone has VIP+ to be able to join every full server

I feel like you're exaggerating with getting headshot every 4 steps you take, if theres a spawncamping archer it takes 2 seconds to type /archer and headshot him.

50 people is good enough, that's about the amount of regs in weekends in one server. If you don't like the full server, go on another one and enjoy a more empty/lifeless server
