    Hi everyone

Even though Brawl is still blacklisted I might as well bring this up, as this idea doesn't really make sense

A lot of you people who are in teams know well that in literally every match 3 classes are always banned, without question : Necro, Engineer, Dwarf. To a lot of people it seems justifiable to ban these classes because they are "op" yet Necro is practically the weakest class right now. Personally I think that matches would be way more interesting if they included these 3 classes (it isn't difficult to set class limits, for example set the limit for engineers and dwarf to 1).

Why would they be more interesting you ask? Think of a full ctf game on Friday or Saturday, full of regulars. Imagine the enemy team has a dwarf and is making it really difficult for your team to steal the flag. A crucial advantage for your team would be to take out their dwarf and thus giving your team a lead. The same kind of idea could apply for matches, obviously with some class limitations and class usage rules.

The class usage rules could be something of this sort

    Dwarf
    -
Up to 1 dwarf per team
    - If your defense has a dwarf, your defense can have a maximum of 1/2 ninjas (changeable), 1 pyro and 1 medic
    - Medics can not restore your items (this would greatly impact the dwarf and could give an advantage for coming in as a heavy and 1v1ing the dwarf)

    Engineer
-No flag camping of any kind (slate), hence no flagturrets are allowed
    - Main entrances are not to be set up as a camp site
-Up to 1 engineer per team
    - Teammates may not abuse of Teleport

    Necro
-No one plays this class anyways?!?!??!

Anyways, such rules as given above could make the match balanced and simple, and would not make the otherwise mandatory banned classes OP.

No thanks. All 3 can only be used to camp, and have no place in competitive matches.

The reason why i made this thread in the first place is to hear me out and think about why they would be effective rather than justifying their bans as "camping classes" and not listening at all

Necro probably would give a disadvantage, it's pretty good for capping IMO. 6 Steak basically full iron armor.

Necro spawners can block entrances and/or exits on most maps. The same goes with engineer. Dwarf is as terrible as it already is. It aggravates me to see people rely on a taped up shift control button and block against assassins [with some claiming to call it "skill"].

This would be too confusing and complex to implement effectively

Right, logic time (note: logic only lets me be wrong wit authority. that's the only reason why I'm using it)

First off, let's shine some light on the situation. Taking notes of the criticism going to necro, let's make a Necro rule list:
-No placing your spawner to block entrances/exits.
-You must stay in a max radius of 10 blocks around your zombies.
-You must place your spawner in an open area so it's possible for the opposing team to take out your spawner (means that you also have to defend your spawner, but as you can't go out of a radius of 10 blocks of your zombies, it means that you have to either ranch your zombies into 1 area or migrate your spawner, which will cause all the zombies to despawn)
-Maximum of 1 Necro per team.

I think those rules sound fair, and they make Necro impossible to camp with.

OK, now let's do a small tweak for Engi:
-No entrances or exits are to be set up as a camp site.
-You cannot go outside of your turret's targeting range.

And that takes all the rest of Engi's campiness.

Now here's the problem I'm seeing with Dwarf: Any heavy or anything would just be obliterated by the rest of the defense. Whilst yes, with teamwork it could be possible to kill a Dwarf, it would still be too hard. Because of this, I suggest this rule:
    -Dwarves cannot block.

With this rule, with enough teamwork, a teammate could distract the rest of the def, and an assassin could just rush in and take out the dwarf with less difficulty than a heavy could kill the Dwarf.

The last time I saw dwarf in a match it got a 40ks and the enemy team got 0 captures. So I don't really see a reason to add that thing in ctf matches.

I'm taking it this was a few years ago in a dwarf op map with 1 or 2 entrances

snowleak is well known for overexaggerating in the present but yes, ive gotten a 45 ks as dwarf back when there were 40 minute games and maps like that christmas castle map. Level 40 was awesome lol.

Legit i dont even see a dwarf as a major threat, i just lightning him away from the flag and then freeze him. I only worry about the pyros ninjas and assassins.

Regardless, Deplicasus' idea of dwarf's rule of "no blocking" sounds pretty fair of a rule to dwarf

Technically speaking, teams may already allow these classes as they can still chose whatever rules they want to enforce. However, if they made the rules overly complicated like no blocking, no item restoration etc... that would be too difficult to carefully watch as a ref - so we'd probably discard those.

Agreed with Quar - if a class needs so many rules for them to be fine in a team match, they probably shouldn't be in the team match at all.

most of the things done whilst reffing might not be seen as a ref which is natural, it's as simple as someone crying out "medic teaming" and you weren't present seeing it

Yeah but those things are more obvious to point out and see. I'm just letting you know that teams can technically have any rules they want. The most complicated though, the most the team's should expect the other team to act on their word, rather than expect the ref to catch it.

If this many rules need to be added to these classes, it's a lot easier just to ban them XDDD

Necro actually can be played pretty objectively, and is honestly so bad right now it shouldn't be banned. As far as dwarf and engineer go I agree they're camping oriented classes, however I do believe it should be at the discretion of the team leaders and not mandatory.

Remember Anni vs. TT unofficial where the last cap had to be a heavy cap and I got to lvl 29 dwarf.
