It's interesting that you would post this. I agree that it should be called Brawl, but it doesn't bother me that some people don't. It should technically be called "Brawl" as that is the server network it's running on, but it's not a big deal. People probably are used to calling it McPvP or do so for nostalgia. As long as it doesn't segregate the community, I think it's fine.

Something tells me that this thread could get ugly very quickly, so just as a reminder, can we make sure to keep it civil? :v

Well... technically it should be called Brawl's CTF. It's owned and operated by Brawl, therefore, it's Brawl's CTF. However, it was created and owned by McPvP originally. I don't really understand what the problem is about people calling it McPvP's CTF.

McPvP is not Brawl. McPvP shut down, and Brawl bought McPvP owned gamemodes. Brawl was its own separate server.

I call it McPvP's CTF because that's what I had called it for years. There are a lot of the older CTF players who talk about McPvP for nostalgia. I doubt that calling CTF by two different names would segregate the community, but who knows.

 

Just call it CTF, OK.

This is kinda what went through my head, but I'll be nicer.

To reiterate what kat said, yes, CTF is on the brawl network, however, most individuals, including myself come from a time where Lord KollVenk and the supreme MCPVP reigned over all of us. Most of us had extreme dedication to our rulers no matter their flaws. MCPVP is dead now, and so brawl has continued the tradition of pissing of CTF'ers in the year two thousand sixteen.

 

The reason you see people say McPvP is because they're talking about the old server, and they call it McPvP's CTF because that's what it used to be. Does the name people call CTF really matter to anything? No, not really.

As @__ES said, we have dedication to our old server, and we don't want to forget all the good times.

I don't even understand why this is a problem- I have never seen people call it MCPVP or Brawl CTF... it's just CTF. Like, there's something wrong if you have to specify.
