Idea Natural regeneration

    natural regeneration? Maybe excluding flag carriers but I don't see why not. If I take fall damage and I'm out of steak it's like ur doomed. Not asking for the fastest regen, just something small. Medic gets natural regen, even ninja if they hold shift with a sword.

    That'd be way to OP, if you run out of steaks, just call a medic with /md or /[your class] to respawn with steaks.

    I can see what you mean though - just its not needed if everyone plays their part for there class

    How is giving the same thing to everyone OP? That makes no sense. Not saying I agree with this thread, but that's not a valid response. Also, you'll almost never get a medic to find and heal you unless you have the flag. As for /class, that sends you straight back to spawn and will kill you if your not at full health, two things people like to avoid.

    Well, natural regeneration can encourage camping. A big aspect of CTF is teamwork, and this ability would make both steak and medic near to useless.

    Well, it'd either be so slow it's useless, or still encourage camping as opposed to finding a medic.

    Just because everyone has it doesn't mean it's not overpowered. For example, giving everyone natural regen would make every class have an infinite health pool. That would make the classes with higher armor values extremely strong as they'd have more effective health, and it would be a nerf to classes that already have an infinite health pool such as medic and mage.

    In regards to the original post, I dislike how it wouldn't apply to flag carriers. This would make flag poison (an already unhealthy mechanic imo) a lot stronger. I also don't agree with punishing players for playing objectively and attempting to cap.

    Well, at that point it would practically useless for anyone playing objectively. On defense or offense going more than a minute without fighting someone is relatively uncommon, and in that time you would only regen 1.5 hearts. All I really see passive regen doing is encouraging classes like engineer and necro who aren't always fighting to camp and let their structures do all the work.

    my opinion is that there should be no natural regeneration.
    Why? - Like Xelia_ said, fast regeneration encourages camping. Sowing it down, makes it useless. Also, it takes away from the teamwork aspect.

    I do however think there should be a steak mechanic. If you are out of combat and you don't have the flag, you can get 1 or 2 steaks depending on the class. It takes 30 seconds of no combat, and 20 seconds a steak. This means less camping, and not overpowered regeneration.

    Also, if you have 5 steaks, (class average) and you eat one, you will not go back to 5 in 50 seconds. It only applies when you have no steaks.
