CTF Compass Trouble

    When I use the compass, it doesn't tell me where it's pointing unless I open my inventory and hover my mouse over it. Usually, it's supposed to display this right above your health/hot bar. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's kind of annoying. Thanks.

    I've developed something of a habit of switching to my compass and double-right-clicking it just so it refreshes and tells me where it's actually pointing, i.e. if a player who had the flag died, the compass will still say the player has the flag until I refresh it. I think this is what you're talking about?...

    Edit: oh nvm, I see what you mean. But still, does clicking the compass fix it or no?

    I am away from home so I can't really test it, but if I recall, no, it doesn't do fix itself when I click it.

    This is a guess but, but could this also involve /Flagdisplay with subtitle? I don't know

    That's weird thou, hope you get it sort out.

    Make sure if you have OptiFine installed that item animations are on.

    I'm pretty sure it's on, because my compass isn't frozen. It's just that the compass subtitles won't show unless I open inventory and hover my mouse over it.

    What version of Minecraft are you using? I wouldn't be surprised if MC 1.9 doesn't work so well with the 1.8 server (I think it's 1.8??), or especially 1.10 if it's possible to play Brawl on that.

    Hmm, that could be the case, because I play on 1.8 and it's labled a 1.9 server on a lot of websites. I'll switch and test this as soon as I get home! Thanks :grinning:!

    I just checked my youtube video where I played on 1.9 for fun, and already in the first few seconds, I was using the compass, and it didn't display the subtitles above the hotbar. Hmm. Well, thanks for the advice anyway!

    Ah ha! I found the reasons was because I had held item tooltips off! Thanks for the help anyway!
