Idea Mage Hoes

    I really don't think that swinging a mage hoe should be able to damage or knockback an opponent. Mage should have to rely on its spells to survive and do damage, not be able to just spam swing their hoe and knock an opponent back if they somehow happen to get into melee range.

    Totally. I was fighting a mage, all his spells on CD, he hits me with his hoes and knocks me back, heals, and kills me. BS.

    imo just remove damage/kb from the damage spell's hoe.
    That'll remove the insistent melee kb while spamming damage spells, but keep damage/kb on other hoes when dealing with ninjas/assassins, where every bit of damage(assassinate) and every bit of space(so you don't get combo'd into hell and back by a speed III demon) helps.

    but people would just switch to the other hoes to knock people back and then switch back to damage to fire a spell

    More encouragement to use other spells, and it'll still decrease the prevelance of swinging hoes because people won't consistently be able to left click on another hoe while using damage spell to its full extent(Most of their swings would inevitably be using damage spell because of how short of a cooldown it is).
    Also, a fist/compass does the exact same damage/kb as a hoe, so the removal of damage/kb wouldn't really even do that much(remove class selector from inventory, scroll backwards after every damage spell and spam clicks, hot key/scroll back to damage spell/other spells, repeat). It's just alot more intuitive to keep the damage/kb on the other hoes and remove it from damage spells. It still forces a mage to switch slots to utilize the knockback(slowing down damage spell spam because it's not fired instantly after coming off cooldown), just in different directions and allows for hotkeys(I can't reach 6 so I can't hotkey to a fist spot)

    Both ways, skill cap is increased and damage spell spam is weakened.

    In my experience a mage can usually just tank a ninja/assassin until the lightning comes back up, so I dun see this mattering much.

    tips to beating mage from a mage main. #1. outsmart and dodge it. #2 ninja heavy chemist other mages and assassin can easily tank/kill(ik assassin and ninja cant tank their damage) mages hits when they land and keep coming. #3 and the most important: get them cornered against anything, if they dont have their lightning, your dps will outmatch their hps.

    Ninja against mages revolve using enderpearls and playing mind games with the mage using eggs and going invis to make mages panic.
