Idea Other Methods of Earning Credits

    I made a post similar to this in the Server Ideas section, but since that got few replies Imma just post somethin here :I

    Basically, I think there should be more ways of earning credits. I understand that staff may already be working on this, but this can help provide discussion between community and staff.

    More credits = playing more objectively. I define that by capping, recovering, and defending.

    Defense: Recovering already has it's set credits, but what about those who defend and don't usually get the recovers or flag carrier kills?

    I suggest that every kill you get within a 10 block area around the flag OR FLAG CARRIER gives the killer 10 credits.

    Offense: Capturing is probably the most difficult action to do in the game, as it probably should be. It gives the most credits, at 50 per capture. You also get 5 per steal.

    I feel like that isn't enough for those who are yknow, trying to cap but aren't really getting far enough. It's really an all-or-nothing concept at the moment. You either go in, get the flag, get out and survive across the map to get the 50 credits + 5 for a steal, or you get nothing but the 5 credits. f

    I would suggest 1 credit per 10-15 seconds of holding the enemy flag. Obviously this is farmable especially later at night when no one tries, so I would also suggest making this only applicable when there are at least 20 players on, a 10v10. If a person holds the flag for the whole map of Blackout, the max credits they can get from it is 120 credits, for the 15 second option.

    Miscellaneous: I've heard other suggestions from people on getting credits. Well. Suggestion. That would be medics healing people.

    I think it'd be okay. Possibly farmable, but not sure. For this I would suggest healing a player once gives 1 credit with a 20 second cooldown. 2 credits for restoring a player's items.
    To promote objective gameplay, I once again suggest 5-10 credits for restoring a flag carriers items and defenders items who are within 10 blocks of the flag. This would also have a 15-20 second cooldown.

    I agree with this. I really support the medic idea because more medics would actually heal you (hopefully).

    For the flag holding, awarding more credits per larger time interval might be better off. Maybe 2-3 credits per 20-30 seconds of flag holding? Around 20 seconds should prove that you made it somewhere near halfway across the map or farther, and the higher time interval can slightly discourage farming if the carrier is impatient.

    Also, miscellaneous ideas:
    1. Maybe-but-probably-not-but-perhaps award archers with 1 credit for every headshot that they make with a single shot (instead of missing once or twice or more)? Though it may encourage more camping (like instakills don't already), it also encourages getting better at accurate shooting instead of bow spamming.
    2. Award 1-2 credits to elf for every Pure Element kill it makes without missing any shots (I'd imagine this is rather easy to code, being that there's already a detector for when a combo shot is broken). Really, that stuff deserves credit.

    Eh Idk, I just want something to encourage those who are trying but not succeeding on offense xPP

    1. Meh. 2 creds for a kill is enough for archer lol @LordCh4os and I get 80-100+ kills fairly consistently on a full game of blackout. Which goes to about 160-200 creds alone for kills. I remember during a match I got 758 creds on a game of blackout. So, IMO, it isn't really necessary. Not to mention, Idk if they'd be able to code that.

    2. ^ not sure if they'd be able to code that, + elf is so iffy with kills I think it'd need something different.

    I would like to try and avoid class specific credits (besides medic). For one, it really isn't necessary imo. Kills are kills, I'm not sure using the classes abilities to a certain degree should be rewarded. Sounds like it'd just reward the regulars more than it'd help out the newbies. Two, objective gameplay!! Grown more attached to it. It's a lot more fun when people are actually playing the game, making it intense, so would like that to be the main focus of the encouragement cx

    I have a pretty good but vague idea of how the elf thing would be coded (as well as the archer thing) but yeah I'd have to see the CTF code to give an example.... and I wanna see summa dat code.... heh....

    Anyway yeah you're right, specific class rewards are probably a bad idea other than medic. We still need more medics. ;-;
