Idea Assassin Change (Very Simple Concept)

    Instakills are eventually coming to an end, so why not give ideas. This is a simple change to assassin to remove instakills but making it still very deadly. (Also making it so you want to surprise your enemies.)

    Armor:
    Same as before but a couple nerfs to it which includes the abilities.

    Inventory:
    Slot 1: Iron Sword
    Slot 2: Assassinate
    - Ability: Reduces YOUR max health to 8 hearts.
    Every hit you deal 2.5 hearts of true damage. Critical hits increase it by 0.5 hearts.
    If hit an enemy from behind it triples the damage amount. 2.5 -> 7.5 3.0 -> 9.0
    Lasts until you either die or switch it off. (Right-click redstonedust, it turns into gunpowder to indicate it is active. There is a 4 second cooldown when you switch.
    Deal damage ignores blocking except for when you hit them from behind, then it only deals 2.5 hearts of damage. (Also your sword will be enchanted with nothing to let everyone know that your ability is active.)

    Slot 3: Speed Boost x3
    - Ability: Gives speed III and haste II for 5 seconds. (Allowing you to break turrets and mobspawners faster.)
    It also enchants your boots with Depth Strider I for 5 seconds as well.

    Slot 4-7: nothing
    Slot 8: Nether Star
    Slot 9: Compass.

    I hope you find this interesting. If it seems too weak, just put a comment about it. I think I missed something... Idk.

    jump boost is annoying as f0k, also you would still one-shot with dis right (critical hit+assassinate)

    Assassin is a necessary evil, it definitely shouldnt get a nerf in anyway unless you want games to be more bs xd

    No, it would not 1 shot. It can deal up to 9 hearts of damage. Like I said: "Critical hits increase it by 0.5 hearts."
    Which deals 9.0 hearts of true damage. (Also let me remake that sentence: "A Critical hit will deal +0.5 to current damage"

    Why is jump boost annoying? BTW You don't wanna jump as often when you have speed III because you are slower that way. But of course if its a hilly map, then I agree.

    Right, but your assassinate reduces the max health to 8 hearts right? 9 hearts>8 hearts=One shot

    Also, Jump boost is annoying because of fall damage from it, and idk, if you've ever played on the moon version of watever da faq that map is, then you know wat I'm talking about

    Omg...I suck at explaining.... srry for the confusion: The assassinate reduces YOUR max HP, not the enemy's.

    This seems like a huge nerf instead of a rework. Assassin does need a change, but if the instakill is removed it needs something to make up for it. The extra damage from behind is basically useless, as it's really difficult to get behind someone to hit them. I doubt you'd manage to hit more than once before they turn around. Additionally, as mentioned, jump boost is extremely annoying as it serves as more of an inconvenience if anything.

    Currently, Assassin represents quite an important position in the game. If you are going to remove it's instakill, you need something very strong to make up for it, as said by @Xelia_. Jump boost can be and is very annoying (as seen on the moon version of Standoff), and some people would have trouble not lagging with it. I think coding something that would work only "from behind" is not possible (correct me if I'm wrong). I get that with this rework you tried to make Assassin a more PvP class, however it would be impossible for an Assassin to PvP anyone with such low armor and the not-big-enough damage output to kill any class without them reacting. Possibly, the Assassinate could deal no knockback so it's easier to get a jump on someone?
