CTF Fanfiction

First of all, yes I'm aware that I'm not the first to bring this up recently. This is also probably gonna be just a one-off thing I've written (unless you people really like it). This morning I was rather bored and in a spur-of-the-moment idea just got to writing a little something. Hope you enjoy!

such a glorious and yet meaningless word @BrandinoB thought to himself as he flicked through scrolls telling ancient legends. Peace had been worth fighting for when he joined the rebel alliance. After nearly a decade however, that had begun to waver. He'd often wondered why the rebel alliance still fought against the Brawl network, after all, it had been over a century since the war had begun. None alive today had ever known what peace was. If they didn't even know what peace was, how could they truly believe it was worth fighting for? Was it better just to give up and live under the control of the Brawl network?

No. Peace wouldn't exist that way, and anyway, he didn't even have a home go back to. At least, not since the network found about his position in the resistance. He couldn't bear to think about how his family must have suffered. The reports were more than enough to shake him to the core. What made it worse was that he couldn't even return, knowing full well he'd be caught and killed. In or out the resistance, the network wanted him dead. That meant aside from the peace of death, there would be none for him. Helping his friends in the resistance was the only hope of peace left.

His friends had kept him sane, and that hope alive since the destruction of his home. Many had gone through life changing situations much as he had. His mind wandered onto the example of his friend @LordCh4os. A similar attack had taken place on his home, only he wasn't as lucky. The attack had taken place as he was visiting. He managed to escape, but not before he was badly disfigured by the forces of the network. To this day, a mask would constantly be worn to avoid showing the scars. Yet despite such a terrible situation, he still found the strength to continue fighting, so that nobody else would have to go through what he had. He'd been a great support when @BrandinoB went through the darkest moment of his life, and he was thankful for that.

Despite such strong support from his friends, that hope was beginning to fade. The war had taken it's toll on numbers, and it had been months since any gains had been made. It had become so desperate the resistance had even begun researching the ancient legends for any potential to stop the network. The dire situation had been bothering @BrandinoB for a while now, and it had start to take a toll on that once great ideal he held in his heart- that of peace.

No, @BrandinoB thought to himself. It had become central to his life, and he couldn't go back on it now without being killed. Besides, if he left, he would be deserting his friends, and he couldn't do that. He had to keep fighting and searching for a way to take down the network. Then, maybe one day, the land would finally be restored to peace. Determined in spite of fading hope, he turned back to searching through the scrolls...
