Quick question about teams...

Depends dude If your team like has a match say every 3rd day? O_O Or just in general has alot of matches during the week then you might need to be able to voice chat a lot, however my team BK i've only been in there for a few days and we only have matches basically once a week so it really depends on what team you join

 

One to two times a week for matches is what's "required" I guess you could say, there is sometimes other calls during the week that you don't have to join but they are usually fun! c:

 

Skype;
Many CTF teams act as families to one another. Many will do events and other games, like skyblock, league of legends, etc. These activities are NOT required though. Teams will not require you to talk, as not everyone has a mic. The main use of skype CHAT in teams is to communicate when matches are, strategy, applications, and most of the time just friendly conversation.


For calling on Skype;
Teams will call for CTF matches, but as I stated earlier, you are not required to talk in them, although most teams will require you to at least to be in the call for coordination purposes. Teams will usually have a match once or twice a week, and some even more/less. So overall, teams do not require you to talk, just listen to calls whenever you are in matches, and mainly just actively type in the chats.

Usually speaking, most teams will want you to at least join calls for matches (for coordination etc). Most of the time, teams will have a match every one or two weeks. Even so, how often team members skype call eachother fluctuates from each team to the next. Some members only skype call for matches, whereas some members skype call whenever they have a chance. Your communication is also a key factor of determining your activeness. A lack of activity often results in a kick from most teams, and that range of inactivity changes from team to team.

There is also the fact that communication within a team is not limited to voice chat. I would assume that most teams have a near 40% voice chat to 60% text chat ratio of communication. Just messaging teammates, whether through skype or ingame, makes up for a lot of the communication that occurs between teammates.

The CTF Teams community has also been making steps towards shifting to Discord, which also features voice chat and text chat.

I see most members/mercs of my team every week but I go on every day if I can.

 

Well first you need to make a skype.

Then apply for a team and in the app tell them your skype name (your original name if you changed the name).

If the team accepts you, the leader or one of the council members will add you to the team's member and merc chat and announcements chat.

If you are interested in playing a match, pm one of your council members.

They will automatically add you in the match chat.

When it is time for the match, one of the members will host the call and end if after the match is over.

Sorry to say but this is different depending on your team.

 

You'd be fine calling once a week as long as you can prove that your alive then there wouldn't be a problem. I've been in teams that would call for around 6 hours every day (give or take) but even then we had members that just showed up for matches and weren't part of those calls
So if you can listen/talk (talking is preferred for coordination) in match calls; they normally happen over the weekend - Friday evenings, Saturday or/and Sunday. Then also message in team chat several times a week you'd be set for most teams
