Problems with Assassin

Ok, so...

It's awful to try to explain via in-game chat, so I'll do my best here instead. I've been experiencing problems lately with assassin opposition.

I presumed that the class had overall been changed without my knowledge, but other CTFers in-game pretty much think I'm crazy. And maybe I am. But if anyone else has experienced this, please let me know.

I regularly main mage. Some of you might know that. Therefore, coming across high-speed and high-melee opposition like an assassin is difficult when I run solely on projectiles which cannot be timed correctly in closed spaces when the other person is running 2 times as fast and has just cornered you.

My issue is about the actual assassination.

It's happened seemingly quite a few times within the past few weeks that an assassin runs at me, often with a teammate, clicks their redstone, spams their sword and runs at me in a zigzag way, I somehow hit them once with a damage spell, and then they assassinate me (yes, while I'm at full or near-full health).

If you didn't spot the problem in there, my concern is on the point where I hit them while they were in 'assassination' mode, when they're suppose to be 1-hit KO, not blocking or anything, just running and spamming their sword, and then they assassinate me.

Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm just a god-awful mage; neither of which are out of the question by any means. I just need some answers as to why this keeps happening to me.

 

Possible, but unlikely, as they were just spamming their sword running at me, with no indication of redstone ever in their hand. But god, did I get clapback for this post lol

I'm no pro, mainly because I don't have the time to elevate myself to the level of recognizable players, but I don't think you got the point of the post.


I realize a far more likely reason is that I live in a fairly rural area and Comcast sucks so
