Notice​

Please do not ask MSW members for permission to spectate matches. We cannot speak for other reps and their wishes, so please ask both reps BEFORE matches. Referee consent will also be in play at all times if they wish. MSW can issue guest passes to those that wish to help out with things like commentating and related, but these passes are highly limited and will only be handed out to those that will add on to the quality of content covered by MSW. Passes are affected by the blacklist, referee preference, and refs/teams consent.

Team leaders/reps, you can always limit the amount of spectators that are in your matches if you wish. If you are bothered by the amount of spectators coming into your matches, then please feel free to pm your match referee and any concerns to gamren or MSW leaders/representatives. All we ask is that you may be thoughtful and fair if you do request to limit spectator numbers accordingly. Your match referee can also control the amount of spectators allowed.

Article #1 - DF vs TC (3-0 DF, 5-0 DF, total 8-0 DF win) by ningeek212​

Both teams having gained quite a few members recently, TC getting newer players to the team scene and DF gaining older players, this match would show how both work with these new additions. DF coming in with a strong roster and TC with a roster including its newer players, we will be able to see how well these new players perform against considered one of the best CTF teams.

Starting off this 10v10 in Opposites collide, DF has a heavy core defense with roaming defense, while TC has a softer defense. Daniellll (Spookkkk) got a very fast steal, at only 40 seconds in, and he heads down below. With no to little support from DF and TC’s offense helping recovery, Spookkkk didn’t last much longer, but that allowed Linkcookie to get a soldier steal and cap. Next wave both teams do a good job defending, with neither able to get across the map, but Suntail got a good chemist steal and cap with more support from DF this time. And again, DF got another chemist cap, ending this map 3-0 in DF’s favor.

Next map was TC’s beloved Blackout, and the strategies from both teams were mostly similar. However, DF used a more roaming defense this game due to the openness of the flag room on this map. With that roaming defense, TC was having a hard time throughout the game to get to flag room together. Linkcookie got a soldier cap as well as a massive lag spike, launching him away from everyone else, allowing him to get the first cap. After a few more attempts by both teams, DF got another soldier steal, but before he could cap Spooktic got a soldier steal, but was quickly stopped by an impressive web, and thus allowed DF to get another cap. DF was then able to get another two strong caps right after that. TC was giving a harder time on DF’s defense, with each attempt getting farther and farther, but without a medic and against DF’s roaming defense, they couldn’t get far enough. They also had a stronger defense, able to stop more and more of DF’s attempts. DF eventually stole as soldier and gave it to an elf for the illustrious elf cap, but to no avail. They again stole as soldier, this time giving it to wintergreen, who was archer, but with TC’s continual rain of soldiers, they couldn’t cap for a little while. After all of TC’s attempts, winter was finally able to cap and give the victory to DF 5-0.

Overall, this game went as most would think, but as the match progressed, we could see TC able to give more trouble to DF’s offense and defense. They were having more and more success in the latter map, yet against DF’s experience, couldn’t get a successful cap. In the end, I think both teams played very well, especially considering that TC had 2 new players. It was a very well fought match by both teams.

Article #2 - Interview with Daniellll by LordCh4os

First of all I'd like to congratulate you on the impressive win. First question, were you feeling confident going into the match? Were those feelings shared by the rest of your team?

I was pretty confident, the roster of TC wasn't as good as it could be, some new people, etc. The team itself seemed to be even more confident!

Well, being confident is never a bad thing! To me it seemed like Delta Force were really on form, do you think your side played really well?

I think that DF was playing very well, yeah. I myself wasn't really playing that well in my opinion, have been pretty busy with school and haven't been able to play medic that much.

Ah, I see, were there any moments in the match you'd have done differently, if so, what were they?

The moment when I had the flag in opposites, I didn't really ask the team to help, and it didn't work out x).

Ah I see! All things aside, I think the match was excellent, with good plays from both teams! Is there a possibility for a rematch in the near future?

DF has actually been trying to get lots of matches, but it seems to be a bit like TT with noone accepting, TT has had a lot of matches with TC in the near past because of other teams not accepting, I feel as if this is going to be the same for DF.

I see, hopefully teams will be more active during the October break, leading to some more matches! Anyhow, last question, are there any teams you'd particularly like to have a match with? There are some strong players everywhere!

I'd really want to see a match against SN or RR actually!

Article #3 - Interview with xAsh by LordCh4os​

First of all, commiserations on your losses this weekend, it's been rather unlucky. First question, were you guys confident going into both the BK and the DF matches?

We weren't expecting too much out of the DF match just to have fun doing what we were doing. BK could have gone either way as far as we were concerned although I was a little concerned going in since I'm not usually a fan of matches set up only a few hours beforehand ^^"

Ah i see, well, both BK and DF have some strong players I'm not surprised! Did you think that TC played well despite the losses?

I think we could have done better on Blackout against DF. We're using some newer members lately and I think still reworking the feel of them in our plans now if that makes sense. Same goes with the BK match really with the new members although BK definitely out matches TC in PvP so that was difficult. Either way we're still happy with the games since we had fun playing them c:

Well, having fun is definitely the most important part of playing in matches! Did you think the team could have done anything better?

Our communication was a bit off, we need to get that together again.

There's always something to be improved. On a personal level do you think you played well in the matches?

Like, as a player myself? I know I definitely have lots of room to improve aha. As a leader I wish I had made some different calls.

Ah, any in particular?

I would have switched up some of the roles people were playing

I see, you guys also had an unofficial with Unity this weekend as well, what are your thoughts on that match?

Ah it might come as a bit of a surprise since we do tend to have them fairly often but TC actually isn't a huge fan of unofficials in general. It's difficult for us to merge the merc & member play styles. The Unity match definitely could have turned out better but we were happy with how long our defense held on the first map!

It can be difficult but that's part of the fun! Final question, can we hope to see rematches, both official and unofficial, with the teams you've played this weekend in the near future?
