Players keep freezing when on CTF...

    I need help. Whenever I play on CTF, all players and entities freeze for a couple of seconds, after that then the game or server suddenly speeds up from how long it lagged for. How do I stop this? This doesn't seem to be a problem with my internet or client because it only seems to happen when i'm on CTF plus I have OptiFine and receive no client lag. It's only when I play on CTF, it especially happens if i'm in the middle of attacking; then everything freezes (players, timer, etc) for a couple of seconds then suddenly speeds up like a catch-up.

    How do I stop this happening? It's really annoying because the random freezes where all players are still can result in random deaths or players far away that are chasing you somehow speed-up because you didn't see what happened due to the lag. :frowning:

    I get the same thing in HG...it's pretty fatal :C

    It's either your internet or the server.
    Try restarting your router.

    I doubt it's my internet, it doesn't seem to happen anywhere else or any other server; only on CTF. Some other people don't seem to get it too so I'm not sure if it's the server either.

    The servers are hosted in North America. Are you in Europe or Australia? That may be the problem.

    I had a the same thing a while ago when I accidentally game mc less ram. It would freeze in the middle of attacking someone then unfreeze a few seconds later. It only happened on servers with a lot of people fighting in a small space (ctf or kitmap). I have no idea if this is your problem but giving mc more ram (close other windows and check JVM arguments) worked for me.

    Yes, I am in Europe. Although it's very unusual of this to happen since only CTF I get this issue but nowhere else.

    ^^ if the above is a bug, I hope it gets resolved. I'm really sad because no one else seems to freeze but me because I'm probably not in the continent the servers are hosted in.

    Particles, vines, updating blocks like water and lava, moving blocks like pistons and the such, and even very highly detailed resource packs can cause unwanted lag. If you're sure its not your client or your internet, then I suggest taking a look at these, turning clouds to either fast or off, turning your render distance down (I know it sucks on ctf, but it helps a lot), turning down your particles (Also sucks, but this is a worst case scenario), taking into account who else is on the internet and what they're doing (netflix, youtube, and others that are similar take up a lot of bandwidth), closing all opened, but unused applications: especially those that use internet, and even possibly changing your resource pack if you have one on. All of these things could help. Good luck! Let me know if any worked!

    Now do you freeze at all? This could be a glitch in your computer because when I got my computer this happened to me aswell. The way I fixed it was by uninstalling and reinstalling mc.

    It's not just happening to you; it happens to me alot as well. It also seems to effect many more players. In my opinion, it's either

    A) Brawl's servers are having their usual potatoe problems

    B) too many peopl are using your internet (your family is using the internet at the same time as you are, perhaps they're on netflix :3)

    C) not enough ram in mc.

    D) a combination of all three
    (God help you)

    P.s. @PleaseUninstall thinks you should unistall

    ^^ due to multiple posts above, it seems that i'm not the only one experiencing this issue with the random player freezes, as people who posted here also said they get the random freezes, so it can't be client/internet issues. Maybe a developer could check this thread out to see if they can resolve the issue or try to speed up the servers due to unneeded lag.
