Idea CTF Today Vs CTF back then

I know I'm not the "Oldest" player, but I do remember CTF, have loads more players, and even staff who weren't super strict on rules such as spamming "DEFEND" in chat at least 5 times. All I want to do is give the server back to its OG owner. I know for a fact that Brawl is dying and I also know that CTF will die with it, if it doesn't pass it on. I know that pyro and Dwarf were nerfed until players started hating it. I would say the players would more likely want the old CTF back rather then having it the way it is.

I ask of my fellow players if they would rather have CTF return to its OG Owner, or passed on to a new one who will change it back. Probably that or would you want CTF to lose your interest and quit brawl.

I know I made it sound agressive, but out of honesty we need to act upon this now. Otherwise CTF will eventually lose our interests.

If anyone has contact to server staff members of more popular servers that they can give to staff or even the owner, I think in the best bet we should let CTF live on. It never originally was brawls to begin with. Let CTF go and be remembered as someone who cared, or drag it down to death, and let it suffer with the rest of brawl.

I have lost hope on brawl ever making its CTF players like it like they did in the beginning. If you want to reply to this you can but after two months for the poll I will delete this, my only hope is that it will move on and return to its previous state.

CTF did indeed have loads more players. We lost so many because we didn't get any good updates for a long time, since McPvP was growing so quickly and it took time to find adequate coders, and other servers were prioritised over CTF as there were more ways for monetisation, and hclewk did not like the way the community handled the little updates we had. CTF is never going to go back to its OG owner - hclewk has attempted to make a server twice (one with Mistborn and one with McRPG - both these servers have closed now) since McPvP, and its very apparent that he's lost interest in Minecraft. Even if Brawl were willing to sell it, hclewk wouldn't likely want it back.

Brawl is dying for a similar reason - lack of updates. The backbone of Brawl - War and WarZ, have been awaiting their 2.0 versions for years. There's no other way of putting it really - Brawl has been really unlucky when it comes to developing servers like this. There's been a couple versions of War 2.0, but every single time, development has stopped. Usually because the developer has resigned. However, this current War 2.0 is making rapid progress, and damn, I really wish I could tell everyone when I think its going to be released. I haven't been involved too much with WarZ 2.0, but its a similar story there too. Once these 2 servers are released, some older players might return, and the servers will be more noob-friendly, so more new players we get will stay. Having more modern servers will likely attract more players too, so long as we advertise properly.

CTF hasn't had much of a decline, really. From what I've noticed, its been CTF and Party which have not had a huge decline in the past few months. There are also a lot of experienced coders in the CTF community who could remake the gamemode if it were to die. I've played remakes of CTF on other servers, so if the gamemode did shut down, it wouldn't be long until we saw a remake of it. However, CTF did not decline originally as a result of nerfing classes. There was a pyro nerf which people were unhappy about, but that is not why people quit. There wasn't really a dwarf nerf either, up until recently. Dwarf is commonly thought of as overpowered anyways, I think a nerf for dwarf would be welcome.

Even if CTF doesn't move on, I'm sure their will be remakes in the near future. Especially since the MCPVP style of CTF was everyone's favorite. They may want to bring it back.

You are right about most things but more players even the older ones still might not come back because of these so called "Noob-friendly" changes the way it was back then was the reason why it's og players played and now that it's removed they still are well "depressed" that the irl money they used back then to buy these op classes, now turned out to become a waste of money and time. The classes where the main part of the game, without a proper class that can allow the player to individually play as attack or defence, sometimes both will allow the individual to go far in becoming a very worthy player but with ever debuff and nerf it makes it hard. I am one of them, back then I bought Engineer and pyro at first cause I liked them the most, then later bought ninja and chemsit. I wasted money on classes that got nerfed to much for me to be good at them like I was then, and now I am depressed since when I face specific people, I just can't switch class and beat them so what's the point in this.

War and WarZ I used to like before Mcctf became part of brawl. Yet even on those stuff got changed/removed and there was barely ever staff that listened and actually /msg players about there reports. On War, I don't want it to change I just want people who are smart and know how to handle themselves, and I also want staff who know the damn maps and not BAN ME for PARKOURING to the top of a SANDSTONE building. On WarZ, I want staff who go the extra mile for the players and play with them instead of being a jerk and straight up killing them.

I know where your coming from but I personally don't know where your trying to go with this "Backbone" of Brawl. I know that War, and WarZ where there main attraction but on the list of server I search for that have " Guns, Zombies, MMORPG, and etc" this server isn't at the top in fact the only way for it to be there is if the player is putting in every detail about this dang server. Brawl is dead its "Backbone" is "Broke" and its now starting to "Wither" in its age. I know very little of the staff on Brawl but knowing how many are just freaking jerks makes me know that either someones got to demote them or someone needs to reteach them.

I'm not a very conversational person when it comes to verbal speech but typing, I'm a different story so if you want the players to be happy maybe create more classes on CTF, Create a BETA War and WarZ for VIP+ doners, and remove some of the lesser played games to try to draw there attention to the main games.

Your info is all wrong. Players quit because they got bored. They have found other things. Most players would actually prefer the new updates. I don't think you know your information.

Most of the staff on CTF aren't really that helpful until very recently, and still we do not know for some unknown reason why we the community aren't getting information as to when updates will be released. The old CTF was and will always be better than the CTF right now, simply because of the leadership of the server and the mods being a lot less strict on everyone. CTF has lost its former glory, its just a bland gamemode now, there is nothing new yet and we don't even know when it will come, the last update was last christmas which gives you an idea of just how bad CTF needs an update. Also mods in matches with contraversial decisions have cause people to leave and overall bias and cruelty of the community (especially the most well-known and most-respected) have caused many people to leave.

On mcpvp there were less updates ever thsn on brawl. There have been several since ctf reopened and in the final 2 years of mcpvp, only 1/2 updates were made (mage and elf). Players get older and lose interest. Honestly I think brawl has done quite well with ctf although a few changes I don't agree with. CTF has had a consistent 50+ on weekends throughout the year. Also if you are such an old ctfer why have you only just made a forums account now and not earlier.

I agree with this though, I think ctf needs a small update just a few tweaks. Also pretty sure the last update was the medic change update which was defo not 10 months ago.

Firstly, I don't know which players you've been talking to, but I can safely say people are much happier now dwarf has a cap! In the case of pyro it's more the double click frenzy than people disliking the update to remove it's instakill.

Secondly, there would be quite a few for a number of reasons. 1). you have the lack of updates on brawl which really annoy quite a lot of people. 2). you have those who preferred the mcpvp style of moderating (I'm in the same boat, at times I get REALLY frustrated by the lack of staff communication, along with some really stupid decisions in my opinion). 3). you have the nostalgia effect. People looking upon the past have a tendency to forget the bad and remember the good. That means that they'll see on the whole mcpvp as better than brawl because the bad things about brawl are both fresh and constant in their minds. I'm afraid mcpvp is gone, whether you like it or not. If brawl did choose to sell ctf, the chances are if it did get bought history would repeat itself, and the veterans in the community would just direct their hatred to the new owners rather than brawl.

I've never fully understood why a number of people hate Brawl, seeing how the server was nice enough to keep the game mode around and actually update it (Brawl was not obligated to do either of those, it could have simply dumped CTF all together). To me, who owns the server, what their rules are, or how their staff operates has never been my concern. If I played CTF strictly for the "utter enjoyment" of it, hopefully you're picking up on my sarcasm, then I would have left right around the time mcpvp died (I feel like it's worth mentioning that I was on mcpvp for around six months, so not a long time when compared to the ungodly amount of years some people have amassed). The only reason I feel the need to stick around is the amount of friends I've made. Cracking jokes, trading banter, that sick satisfaction we all get from calling @LordCh4os ez and him taking us seriously for some reason (all jokes lord <3).

CTF is almost certain to never return to its' original state, I recall someone mentioning that the original code for CTF is gone, and, as stated above, the original owner is most likely not going to want it back (and seeing how CTF is currently one of Brawls largest servers, I doubt hclewk would be able to get it back if he wanted to) . Might as well just be happy that we still have a server to play on.

LMAO. Just keep CTF alive brawl. That's probably my only wish, and probably a lot of others too. CTF is as fun as it used to be, if not better. Updates keep it from keeping repetitive.
