CTFers Overwatch Tournament

    For those CTFers that play Overwatch, I will be organizing an Overwatch tournament specific to CTF players. My goal of this tournament is to have everyone enjoy the matches while also working on my own personal commentating ability.

    There is currently no set date for the tournament, and there will not be until I can discuss information with team leaders, however here is what I can tell you as of now.
    • The tournament will be 4 teams in size.
    • This tournament will be PC only.
    • There will be an SR average of 3250 or lower, anyone that is found to be smurfing or getting around this rule in any way shape or form will have their team disqualified from the tournament.
    • Matches will be played on NA in a custom with myself setting them up. (I can show everyone how to temp transfer their account to NA if any EU players are interested.)
    • Matches will be best of 3 with the first map being chosen by one of the teams (coin flip to see what team picks), the second map being chosen by the loser of the first map, and the third if it is needed being a control point map (Nepal/Lijiang/Illios.) Maps 1 or 2 will be restricted to Payload, Hybrid or 2 Point Capture maps.

    • Team Name
    • Team Leader Minecraft IGN and Overwatch IGN/Battletag (NA.)
    • Discord ID of team leader.
    • Minecraft and Overwatch IGNs and Battletags of players on your team (6 players + 2 subs max.)

    Because the majority of players that sign up will be a lower mmr, and I don't want a team of high mmr players stomping the entire thing. It would be different if I could guarantee that like every team has 1 higher mmr player, but that doesn't seem too feasible to me.

    Does it work like each team is independent like ctf team or will it be a bracket.

    There will be a bracket with the teams that sign up. The bracket will be discussed once I have all of the team leaders in a chat.

    I knew you would want to play, but I know there are a few ctfers that are masters+ and I feel like it wouldn't be fair for the lower ranks. That being said, a mmr cap increase could be discussed once all of the team leaders are together, but before everything is finalized.

    I'd play but I'm literally level 30 (got the game a few weeks ago) and I'd have no chance against any of you xD

    I'm not actually sure how spectating on overwatch works, but if there's some slots left once everyone is in the custom then I don't see why not.

    I might get overwatch but I heard it's laggy from some friends. Cool idea though, would want to take part if I had it and was good.

    There is a spectator column in custom game setups. It's similar to minecraft spectator mode and you can also view the screens of players.
    Are you still on that dell laptop that you told me about? There are some minimun system requirements for the game. My i3 laptop, that fits the absolute minimum spec, will run the game on minimum settings at around 15 - 20 fps, however my PC with a GTX 960 graphics card runs the game at 60-120fps on ultra settings. Your choice, it's £30

    Yes, I was thinking about getting my own pc but I'm not sure. I'd need to ask my parents about the specs. I have a laptop though that is an i5 I think.
