Note on Capture Farming

Stats reflect playtime, not skill. Why people care about their stats so much is beyond me...

 

Coming from a player who almost always plays on a server with little people or waits for one to start.
The reasons why I play on said servers are as follows (usually just one of them):
1) I can't be bothered to deal with snipes every 4 blocks and getting 10v1d in the enemy flag room. Since teamwork is err... pretty much nonexistant outside of competitive CTF, I'd rather go somewhere where I can cap and not be frustrated.
2) Too many annoying people. A lot of people tend to smack you as you walk by and/or give chase for 4 million years. There are also times where there are people arguing with each other which I don't want to solve.
3) A handful of my friends usually play on empty servers as well.
4) Lag.
5) Terrible map resulting in 1)

That's all the reasons I can think of for now. I don't consider it cap farming because I don't care about my caps/stats (although I do want to stay above a 1 kdr tbh) and I don't need more credits. I mean, having 3x more caps than the 2nd place on the daily leaderboards is cool and all but it's mainly just playtime. I play a lot on holidays so...

Edit: I can cap on full servers too just saying

 

i mean hey i know somebody who capfarms and just immediately quits capping when other certain people go online so i find joy in just sitting on my ass and making them stop q^)

 

You know what could fix this capfarming issue?

Pesticides.

 

Or disable captures altogether. CTF is now team deathmatch!

 

It's already team deathmatch with a stupid mechanic that facilitates a faster map switch

enough with the cap farming, people have been sword spamming for years now and yet there is no rule against it. pathetic.

 

I believe I was the only person ever administered a total stats wipe on mcpvp. All the others were bought/via request iirc.

 

Unless they're literally getting 5 alts on to start a game specifically to cap farm, I don't see that much of a problem. Someone has already said it doesn't reflect skill, another has said that at certain times of the day there are few people on anyway. It's not that big of a deal

 

I only get on small servers because the other servers are full or it's freeday and the lag makes me get two bars on connection. Other than that, I would rather play on a full server because it's a lot more fun with the challenge of trying to solo-cap on a 20-man defense ;D But seriously, stats?

 

most of the time someone who cap farms sucks and has a reputation for being bad and not capping in full servers so even tho stats are good, people would know they cap farm.

Well I mean I know you're a good player, I wasn't directing towards you in all. I'm able to cap on full servers as well, but that's not the point. You cap farm, your new IGN is literally "CapFarmer", but you actually do minecraft good so.

 

I can cap farm on full servers. Praise me!
