Idea Mage Spell duration idea

    If a mage casts a flame spell/heal spell/freeze spell and it hits intended target and mage dies before the spell has lasted a full duration (i.e. still on fire, still frozen and still healing), the effects are instantly gone along with the mage's death.

    Lightning and damage spell aren't included for obvious reasons.

    Would be hard to code
    But then the pyro fire should be gone as well with the pyro dying
    -1 for now
    with some extra elaboration this could work

    I'm sure its takes less than 20 lines of code in total, after all it's a simple if conditional statement, otherwise I wouldn't bother to suggest it.

    The idea is it could promote teamwork and if someone is battling a mage it would wear off the effects as a reward for succeeding in killing them. (Even though mage spells don't last that long anyway)

    I didn't really mention pyro because id like to see mages spell as something that last while it's caster ie the mage is still alive. Pyro doesn't really cast spells therefore it's not really the same idea

    I agree with this, mages are a subtle but deadly threat, especially midfield. It's difficult to target a good mage 1 on 1 unless you're ninja/assassin (which aren't free classes) so introducing this idea would perhaps put a larger bounty on their head. +1

    yes but the fire damage for example. If you'd have the effects of flame spell removed upon the mage's death it would only seem logical the fire damage from a pyro fns or bow's shot is also removed upon the pyro's death

    -1. Mage would be a pure spam class still.

    Instead you should give mage a sword (stone or wood?), give the heal spell and damage spell ammo (5 heal ammo and 15-20 damage ammo), reduce the fire rate of the dmg spell to that of the other spells, and make the damage spell do true damage (5-7 hearts of true damage would be fine). That way Mage would be able to do Melee damage, the damage spell has a longer cooldown, and mage does not have an infinite health pool.

    this does not have anything to do with the fact that you can spam stuff with mage though...

    Fair enough, but it would only make pyro weaker and defense worse, which is why I don't particularly agree with implementing the same thing for pyro as with mage, and anyways I explained also my reasoning of mage being a spell caster and pyro not being 1
