We all know this update isn't going to happen. I kinda like JustFamouz's idea about them having to buy the gear they have now for 10k. Maybe they should spawn with leather now.

But it's a possibility for summer playtime? Especially because that's when brawl is typically the most popular, therefore, the rework would be most necessary. (If there were to even be one)

Even if we did remove sheriffs from Wild West, the game would be so much more easier. I understand what you all mean about new players, but if we remove sheriffs, old players will then find the game quite easy, making them quit or leave for a while, which is bad, since the player rate in wild west is only now starting to grow from a huge decrease of players, my point is that if we remove sheriff, we would need something to make the game still a little harder for players, like how sheriffs were in the ways of bandits.

Wild West is called 'Wild' for a reason isn't it? It should be dominated by rogues and train robbers instead of by sheriffs with much stronger armor and weapons. I don't know if I'd support removing sheriffs entirely - as I don't play the game - but I don't see anything wrong with lowering the emphasis on law and order around here.

Maybe assign certain sheriffs to certain towns. For example, a sheriff can only watch over and protect one town and it's closest rebel bases. This would make it so sheriffs can't check every single rebel base, and it sort of makes sense. Sheriffs are protectors of a town, not an entire state/country/whatever WildWest is. Every day the sheriffs could pick a town to watch over, and it could reset once every 24 hours. Players would be publicly notified which town each sheriff is watching over (maybe on a billboard in each town or something, idk).

@randomcitizen1, @AmbitionZ_, @Gehenna_Beam, and @chickenslayr I have an idea for a possible fix. Don't know if it's been suggested yet, but why not have a new system for how sheriffs get paid instead of worrying about their armor being too strong and what not?

As it stands, sheriffs are people too, and people ingame are driven by money. A sheriffs job is to protect the people, but their main reason for actually doing their job is because they get paid for doing it. What if we made it so people are worth more depending on their armor as well? (This would apply to sheriffs as well)

The idea behind this is that if a sheriff sees a full leather running around, they're most likely new or not very skilled at the game. What I believe would happen if this was implemented would be that sheriffs would look at that full leather and think "they aren't worth much, so they aren't worth my time" and move on to someone more challenging, like gold armor or full diamond.

On the flip side, sheriffs that wear kelvar will be worth more, diamonds will be worth more than gold, gold more than leather, and so on and so forth. I do not have prices for this idea yet, but I'd like to see a price determined for each individual armor piece instead of the full thing. This would help with the leveling system because people like to mix and match gold and diamond armor a lot.

Thoughts? Should I make a separate thread?

I haven't read over the comments, and I don't play Wild West too much, but I know Sheriff is a roleplay role. What if you were to add corrupt sheriffs that turn a blind eye to farming for a little bit of the share or something like that eh?

The issue with that is that it strictly goes against the sheriff handbook. I used to do that until I was told it wasn't allowed. You should read my comment above, though. I think it could help.

The server is currently flooded with diamond armor, making it more expensive(to make it rare) will mostly hurt the new players that feel confident to explore in full diamond which is currently around 10k from the shop, 10k for a new player takes hours to earn. also the items being held in the inventory are most of the time better then the armor in sheriffs perspective(sheriffs have no place to sell armor, new players don't know about it and old players won't pay much for damaged armor) The possible drugs, guns or wallet money that sheriffs find are more valuable to them.

    Suggestions:
Buffing the rewards for sheriffs would be better(ex: all illegal guns are awarded with the full retail price or/and processed drugs get double payout)

Adding a npc where diamond/gold armor can be sold where the payout depends on the durability

Well sheriffs don't protect people, because once a player is killed, they won't get their stuff back. All a sheriff does atm is preventing people from making money (Yes you can mine too, but that's even more boring).
I'm not sure what you mean with the armor idea, ''On the flip side, sheriffs that wear kelvar will be worth more'' what does that mean?

This would actually help, it's a great idea. If that can be implemented Wild West will stand a chance.
