    CTF Map Submission
I'm still attempting to get some oldies back.

    Map Name: Atlantis I (?)
    Map ID: 382904
    Style: Underwater Ancient
Creator(s): Reworked by Xelasi, Original by Snowtucs
Structure Restricted Areas: Flagroom, spawn, areas near flagroom, tunnel
    Configured: Yes
    Number of Caps: 5

To try to fix the lag problem I've removed all of block 36, all lava, replaced decorative vines with leaves or ladders, and sandwiched a minimal amount of water between glass instead of suspending a ton of it midair.

    Lengthened the map slightly.

Tried to keep the spirit of the original while cleaning up some issues and annoyances.

    [edit: fixed the biome]

Short tunnel that opens at mid.

    Solidified flagroom.

Spawn exits at center and sides, no camping hallways.

Tbh reworks don't take nearly as long as originals because you don't have to build from scratch or make guesses about how it'll be played, and the added perk of reworking maps that have been played before is that you already know what the broken things are xD

Originals are really difficult to do well the first time through, kudos to anyone who can pull it off.

    @GalaThundR shout-out, no pressure xD

This was one of my favorite maps, back when it was in rotation. I'm glad someone has reworked it, and especially that you tried to reduce lag. The one problem I had with it years ago was that I only got 10-15fps when I played.

Yeah. I'm really hoping I eliminated the lag, I'll be sad if it reaches testing and it turns out that the glass and water are still too much. Lakes and oceans on maps don't seem to cause issues, so I'm hoping it's okay.

Actually, lakes/oceans of water normally don't have any effect on performance; flowing water is the problem. It lags FPS due to constant block updates. That's why maps like River Crossing (even though it has a ton of water) don't lag. The water is stationary. Stationary lava generally causes more lag than water and flowing lava causes a lot due to the same reasons as flowing water.

TL;DR: Atlantis doesn't lag due to the water on the top, it lags because water is flowing down the sides.

ok an easy way to fix the flowing water issue is to replace the flowing water with still water. yes it can be done for walls. while it may look like flowing water it is still water.

It is still water inside the glass and the walls.

The only flowing water is the aesthetic coming from the ceiling.
