    Hey there, CTFers!

Map Wave XIII has been coming along pretty well so far, so we're here to give you guys a bit more information on how testing and voting will take place.

We've received a fair amount of feedback on the split between in-game & forum voting (on the Wave XIII announcement thread and elsewhere), and have decided to use both this time around as well. Votes from the two methods will, again, be weighted evenly, as both have their advantages and drawbacks. We're also going to be putting an emphasis on getting a larger sample size for the voting form this time around (with the ideal target being at least 100 responses). Doing so, of course, will require help from the community, so be sure to keep it circulating once voting opens!

Speaking of voting, we will begin live testing of Wave XIII maps on July 23rd, 2017! Testing will last for a week (until the following Sunday, July 30th), which should allow for most players to find the time to try out & vote on maps in-game. The online voting form will be opened for responses on the 23rd as well, and close the day after live testing concludes (July 31st).

While live testing is taking place, we will only be committing changes to the maps we're testing if game-breaking issues are present (examples of this include glitched spawns and so on). If you have any changes that you want made to your map, make sure that they are complete before live testing begins, as we won't be making exceptions for gameplay/balance issues.

While our process of thinning out maps that don't meet basic requirements hasn't concluded yet, we're currently looking at testing around 30 maps for this wave. The final number that we test likely won't skew more than 4-5 maps in either direction from there, as most of those involved have voiced their opinions at this point. We'll post the complete list of maps that we're testing for Wave XIII as soon as we can, but we'll begin to make current consensus picks playable for testing purposes before the list is finalized, so keep your eyes out for that!

We'll be keeping you guys up to date on either this thread or the initial announcement post as the process moves forward. You can expect full-scale update posts when (a) we finalize our list of maps being tested for Wave XIII and (b) shortly before live testing begins. Until then, we look forward to your feedback, and will see you around!

    Happy Capping!
    - The CTF Committee (and Xelasi and Gala, who are barely earning enough to make ends meet by making CTF maps, and really just want out of this dead-end job.)

    UPDATE:
Live testing has begun! Check this thread out for more info!

Good question tbh, but I think either that or whatever was supposed to prevent repeat maps from popping up might be bugged. Repeating map issues have been mentioned in staff chat

(Pretend this is comic sans and obvious sarcasm will follow) Wave has no maps made by me and therefore is a complete failure.

In seriousness, I'm glad to see that maps are being live tested now (if this has been a thing for a while please remember I've been gone). Is it too late to mail in an 11th hour submission or no?

I'm afraid it's too late for this wave :frowning: still submit it and I'll be able to put it on a list for the wave after.
