    Hello CTF! This class idea has been bouncing around in my head for a long time, and I've finally gotten it to where I believe that it would be most useful and balanced within its role. The idea spurred from the Agent class concept that I posted a while ago, and I've changed and developed the class further based on the feedback and suggestions that I received from that topic. This class is one of my more complex classes, so I apologize in advance for the wall of text that is this class. Without further ado, I present to you the Warlock!

    Free/Premium: Premium
    Intended Niche: Currently in the game of CTF, there are no classes that were designed with the role of Offensive Support specifically in mind. While there are numerous classes that can fill the role of Offensive Support such as Elf, Medic, and Chemist, none of the mentioned classes were designed specifically as this type of class. Elf and Medic are Pure Support classes, meaning that their abilities function equally as well wherever they are on the battlefield, and Chemist is an Offensive Capping class who's secondary role is Offensive Support. As such, a class that is designed specifically with the Offensive Support role in mind will shine brighter than any of the classes currently used to fill this void.

    Intended Role: Offensive Support
    Possible Roles: Defensive Support, Zoning, Soft Single-Target CC

    Class Description: While the Mage and Elf draw their mystical abilities from the elements and the essence of good, the Warlock joins forces with the Necro, drawing its abilities from the essence of corruption and evil. Whether you are rendering a single enemy defender unable to defend the flag, wreaking havoc with your lingering potions, or positioning your teammates with your pet spider, the Warlock class is a useful tool to have when attacking the flag room.

    Feet: Leather Boots - Dyed Black

    Hotbar:
    Slot 1: Warlock's Sword x1 - Wooden Sword
    Slot 2: Warlock's Steak x2 - Steak
    Slot 3: Menacing Brew x3 - Lingering Potion of Harming
    Slot 4: Dominate Mind - Eye of Ender
    Slot 5: Dark Envelope - Block of Coal
    Slot 6: Summon Spider - Spider Spawn Egg
    Slot 7: Empty
    Slot 8: Class Selector x1 - Nether Star
    Slot 9: Compass x1 - OP Nerf pl0x

    Item Descriptions:

    Menacing Brew - The warlock has three lingering potions at its disposal to help control, weaken, and damage enemies while in a fight. Each potion has a percent chance to spawn either a poison 2, weakness 2, harming 2, or all three effects, with the chances being 33%, 33%, 33%, and 1% respectively. The poison 2 and weakness 2 effects last for 5 seconds once the affected player leaves the lingering potion's AoE, and all three effects remain on the ground for 5 seconds.

    The menacing brews can be restored by medics, or by waiting for them to naturally regenerate. The potions regenerate at a rate of 1 potion every second, and it begins two seconds after all three potions have been thrown. If a potion is thrown while the regeneration is still occurring, the regeneration effect is halted for 5 seconds and then reset (meaning you must throw all potions currently in your inventory before regeneration begins again).

    Dominate Mind - The Dominate Mind ability is a single-target multiple soft-cc ability that is intended to take high value targets out of the equation when attempting to steal the flag. When an enemy is affected by the Dominate Mind ability, they receive slowness 2 for 5 seconds, weakness 2 for 5 seconds, mining fatigue 2 for 5 seconds, a fluctuating nausea effect for 5 seconds, and have their active slot in their hotbar switched to slot 9. The fluctuating nausea effect lasts for 5 seconds, begins at nausea 1 for 1 second, increases to nausea 2 for 1 second, then nausea 3 for 1 second, then back down through nausea 2 and 1 for the remaining 2 seconds.

    The ability is targeted much like the 'Wait Up!' ping function that every player has access to. To affect an enemy, the Warlock must simply place its cursor over the desired enemy and right-click. The ability will not trigger if an enemy is not targeted when the ability is activated. The ability has a 10 block range and a 20 second cooldown. While on cooldown, the eye of ender is replaced with an enderpearl.

    When an enemy is affected by this ability, the message, "Your mind goes blank as a dark chill washes over you... You were controlled by [Player Name Here]!" is displayed in your chatbar.

    Dark Envelope - This ability applies Resistance 1 for 5 seconds, as well as makes the affected ally translucent for 2 seconds (like spectator heads). When left clicked, the ability is applied to the Warlock, when right-clicked, it is applied to any ally that is right-clicked on. This ability has a 15 second cooldown, during which the block of coal is replaced by a block of iron.

    Summon Spider - The Summon Spider ability functions in many different ways in order to assist your allies or harrass enemies on the battlefield. When right-clicked, a spider is summoned on the block that is clicked. While holding the spider egg in your hand, if you press your crouch ability, you take control of the spider, and can move around the battlefield. The spider cannot crouch, but can climb walls and attack. Any successful attacks from the spider deal 0.5 hearts of damage, not through armor, and also apply Poison 1 for 1 second. The poison effect can stack. To return to your point of view, simply change your active slot on your hotbar. If you press your crouch ability again while in the spider's point of view, you will be returned to your point of view and the spider will disappear. The spider has the armor equivalent of a zombie, and has the equivalent of 40 hearts. However, a single pure-element shot from an elf will instantly kill the spider.

    Allies are able to ride the spider like a horse, mounting with right-click and dismounting with crouch. While a player is riding the spider, it moves at its normal pace, and can still climb walls and jump. This functionality allows you to move allies into various positions that they would not be normally, thus allowing a heavy and a medic to attack through a pathway usually reserved for soldiers. You can ride your own spider by right clicking to mount, using crouch while holding your spider egg to switch to its point of view, moving while on it, and then dismounting by pressing crouch while not holding the spider egg.

    If the spider is despawned by the warlock, it can be summoned after 5 seconds at full health. However, if it dies, there is a 10 second cooldown before the spider can be summoned again.

    Class Specifics:

    Passive Poison Resistance - As its power is drawn from evil and corruption and the Warlock is neither truly dead or alive, the warlock is unable to be poisoned. When the warlock would become poisoned, regeneration 3 is instead applied to the warlock for whatever the poison's duration would have been.

    The Warlock functions best in the back lines of an offensive assault wave. After using your spider minion to move you and some teammates into a position that an attack would not be likely to come from, allow your teammates to charge in first and get the attention of the defenders. Use your Dominate Mind ability from a safe location to remove the largest threat from the battle, such as the enemies pyro or ninja, and then enter the fray. Use your potions to zone off the enemy from your teammates, and then use your Dark Envelope ability to protect the flag carrier and make them harder to spot so they can escape.

    Alternatively, you can attack with your spider while your teammates follow beind or from on your back. Your poison attacks may deal small damage initially, but the effect will stack up with each successful strike. Additionally, your large health pool and size will allow you to tank massive damage from the defenders, and possibly help the flag carrier escape through the ceiling.

    Alternatively, if defending is your forte, you can use your spider to help your archers gain access to previously inaccessible rooftops, and use your Menacing Brews and Dominate Mind abilities to help hinder your enemies from stealing the flag.

    However, as you have a low health reserve, and relatively low armor, you are easily removed from the fight, so be careful.

    I hope you enjoyed the Warlock Class Idea. It is one of my more complex class ideas, and if anything needs to be clarified, I will be happy to do so. Additionally, I would appreciate it if the comments were restricted to actual constructive criticisms regarding the class itself. I agree that i'd rather see the current classes balanced before new classes are added, however this thread is for suggesting a new class to be added when it can, not instead of balancing current classes.     7/2/17 - Added a 5 second cooldown to the spider pet if the warlock despawns the pet itself in order to prevent a warlock to despawn a spider at 0.5 hearts and immediately send in another full health spider without taking some form of penalty for losing 39.5 hearts. Previous cooldown was 0 seconds.

    As far as class ideas go, this is pretty good. However, I just don't think CTF needs a new class for now.
