Hi CTF'ers. In this dwarf rework, I want to get rid of snowballing entirely and to give dwarf a bit more purpose.

    Armour, items and status:
    - Diamond chestplate and platelegs; chainmail helmet and boots
    - 3 steaks
    - Dwarven axe enchanted (enchantments depend upon the location of the dwarf)
    - Permanent slowness I (full hunger-bar so it can sprint)
    - Cannot be buffed by a chemist

    Dwarven axe
    - Sharpness III
    - Fire aspect I

    Abilities
    - Juggernaut: the dwarf gets resistance I whenever it crouches.
    - Steadfast: the dwarf's hitpoints will ALWAYS cling to 3.5 hearts before it's about to die; the dwarf cannot be instakilled; whenever the dwarf is at 3.5 hearts, the last resort ability will activate.
    - Last resort: when the dwarf is at 3.5 hearts, it will trade its permanent slowness I for speed I, strength I, jump I, haste I and fire resistance. Last resort is cancelled whenever the dwarf is healed. (or when it dies)

No. Massive buff, dwarf needs a nerf. You are still restricting it's movement massively and forcing it to play in the flag room. This will make the dwarf probably the tankiest class and it requires no skill to play except hitting people when they come close to the flag.

I intended to give dwarf more purpose with this rework and yes, it did end up being a massive buff; (the numbers within the flag radius could be discussed). Keep in mind that this dwarf has permanent slowness I and is therefore the easiest class to combo. This dwarf also has no fire and potion immunity and can be attacked by pyro's and chemists.

It's still reliant on being in the flagroom due to slowness and damage loss outside. The half heart ability is basically useless as the next hit in a fight would kill it anyway. Dwarf needs a total change in abilities, not some minor changes to remove it's snowballing.

True, but isn't that what the ''professional players'' want? That it keeps its original role?

I gave it abilities to be a tank class even outside the flagroom. The purpose of last resort is to give it some final power to win the fight. If you have some suggestions I'll be happy to hear them.

I've never heard anyone argue against a Dwarf rework. Pretty sure everyone is in favor of it

Yes, but it is useless because Dwarf can be killed by any class if they land one hit while Last Resort is active. I mean you are giving Dwarf this large power spike at half a heart, where you can barely do anything with that power spike because you're extremely vulnerable. And if you steak when you're about to take lethal damage you lose the power spike. What's the use of adding it then? That's just silly xd

anyway... Dwarf needs a rework that fundamentally changes how the class works. Right now it's extremely unbalanced - ridiculously strong in the flagroom and terrible everywhere else. This rework doesn't address that.

Lol, lets make it have a tunnel ability, I'd actually laugh.

I got super excited when I saw a dwarf rework being posted. With all the archer and assassin debates going on, somehow dwarf has fallen out of discussion.

In my opinion, dwarf needs a TOTAL REWORK. That includes changing the play style of the entire class. I'd offer more support, but it looks like you tried to maintain the original purpose to some degree. I'd rather see dwarf be defense support class, something along those lines.

So, I'd offer more support to a dwarf rework if it took the class in a completely different direction. I was never a fan of it's original purpose, and with a total rework it could eligible to play in matches. In short, I would've liked you to take the class in a completely different direction then what it is now.

That's some fair criticism. What would you say about the following:

    Dwarven axe
    - Sharp III and fire aspect I everywhere: (so no more flagroom class)

Last restored activated at 3-4 hearts: (so still can't be instakilled and can do more with the last resort ability)

    Rest stays the same. Thoughts?

As long as Dwarf has permanent slowness (I-II or whatever) it will always be a flagroom class because it gets destroyed in open spaces due to every other class being far more mobile/ranged than it is. Changing the damaging abilities or how they work doesn't fix that

props for dumping the xp-for-buffs snowball mechanic though. That's one of the things that really needs to be removed

Slowness I isn't that slow: it's a 15% speed reduction. Due the full hunger bar, the dwarf can sprint. The tank kit in kitbrawl has slowness II and works fine.

If you are trying to make dwarf's abilities more sophisticated then i would tell you to change 1 thing, just 1 thing about dwarf would add more purpose to dwarf which would be the speed. Slowness 1 is too fast because if the flag carrier gets into your flagroom then the dwarf would be able to at least land a few hits on them so i would suggest lower the speed of dwarf.

This reworked dwarf isn't a flagroom camper anymore. It's a slower powerhouse that can be used for both offence and defence.
