    Since many of you said a free recovery class would be a needed thing ive decided to make it so

    Name:Berserker
    Command:/Berserker

    Free/Premium:Free
    Intended Niche:[recovery] Environments within close to medium distance between yours or the enemy flags, summed up right by your flag or the enemies or at most 20-40 blocks away from it depending on the map though farther distances could be used to apply its secondary role.

    Intended Role:Flag recovery/control
    Possible Roles: damage input and defence

    Class Description:A class suited for saving what matters most using a series of skills

    Armor:
    Head:None
    Chest:Leather chestplate dyed black prot III
    Legs:Leather leggings
    Feet: iron boots [feather falling 2]

    Hotbar:
    Slot 1:Wooden stick named "spear" [sharpness 5]
    Slot 2:Stone axe x1"Berserkers axe"
    Slot 3: Steak x3
    Slot 4:
    Slot 5:
    Slot 6:
    Slot 7:
    Slot 8:nether star
    Slot 9:compass

    Item Descriptions: Slot 2: Stone axe, when you attack must hit the enemy; anyone whos an enemy in a 3x3 area relative to your standing position will take 4 damage meaning for a block radius around you you'll deal splash damage, on right click for this axe you will leap forward 5 blocks in the direction you look with a cooldown of 6 seconds

    Class Specifics: you get constant speed 1 and resistance 1 when your flags stolen or if your inside the flagroom

    Along with this you also do 1.5x the damage to flag carriers

    Thats my idea for a free recovery class i hope it isnt too complicated; if it doesnt work well feel free to suggest what i can fix or if its unfixable do say so

    Changelog:
    -removed passive ability where berserker would have half the cooldown if the flag was stolen 8/23/17
    -Added leather leggings for survivability 8/23/17

    Hi! Glad to see you're still going for new class ideas. You're thread looks more detailed, and the class fits what the community generally wants if there were to be a new class.

    I don't feel like this class would be over powered, although if it were to be implemented someone would find a way. But that happens with basically every class, so it's not really a concern.

    I think this is quite a cool idea for a recovery class, with the dash ability it would make catching up to the flag carrier much easier. However, I think that halving the cool down on the dash whenever someone has your flag would be a bit too strong. If you are able to catch the carrier every 3 seconds it would be quite difficult to escape especially with it being a free kit meaning many people would be able to use it. I suppose you can compare it to ninja. Ninja is able to ender pearl behind the carrier without any cool down but the difference is that the pearl deals damage to the ninja and the ninja (also the ninja can only pearl so many times without regen). Whereas the berserker would be able to dash every 3 seconds, take no damage and have a bit of armour and speed which, in my opinion is quite overpowered. I think to balance this the berserker should not half the cool down when someone has the flag but reduce it by a slightly smaller scale, other wise it could be as incessant as a ninja on recov but with more armour.

    On the plus side though I feel as if the berserker would also be able to take out ranged troops quite well such as mage and archer (maybe even engineers). The dash ability would remove the bowing and the mages spells allowing you to get close and take it out. Although, people may say that ninja fills that role anyway, in reality any archer/mage who knows what they are doing can survive a ninja attack relatively easily.

    These are all my basic opinion, by the way I've tried making a class before and found it very difficult to consider everything. Hope this helps in some way but I still think this is a cool class that could be practiced to the point where you could make some nice plays.

    (also with the splash damage thing, would you have to land a hit on an actual enemy to deal splash or do you just have to right click?)

    I totally missed the cool down half, actually now I do see a problem. Imo you shouldn't half the cooldown, I see a potential for it to be spammable, so I would leave the cooldown alone.

    Overall, it seems like a straightforward class that will do decently well in filling the free recovery role. I like the idea of the passive speed and resistance whenever the flag is stolen, but i'm not sure how over-powered it will be while you're in the flag room. This latter point really can't be addressed without in-game testing, but i'll point it out anyways.

    As for the armor and abilities, it has a good health reserve with the 3 steaks, but a relatively low armor pool. When someone steals a flag, it would be your job to go recover it. As such, even with your decent health reserve, your low armor will mean that you die a bit too much. I'd suggest adding leather leggings to the class to bring the armor value up just a tad to help with the survivability factor.

    Everything this class can do, ninja or assassin can probably do it better.

    Firstly, it's armour is very weak. It has more armour than ninja and assassin obviously, but it's still not very strong. Ninja and assassin both have good mobility to make up for this, whereas one of berserker's only other mobility advantage is feather falling 2. This is not very strong, and assassin is already immune to fall damage when it's redstone is active, and ninja can pearl to remove most fall damage. The leap isn't a huge feature advantage either. The only advantage berserker has over ninja and assassin is 3 steak, however as it's armour is so low, most people would be spending more time healing than actually attacking the flag carrier.

    The sharp 5 wooden stick is not very useful, compared to ninja's sharp 5 gold sword or assassin's instakill ability. The damage output for berserker is the lower of these three classes, so it has no advantage here either. It can't even blockhit to reduce damage.

    It's aoe effect isn't that great either. It does a small amount of damage (that's assuming it's true damage, too) and this class isn't really designed to take on multiple people at the same time due to it's weak armour.

    In almost every aspect of this class, ninja or assassin does better. There aren't many interesting or strategic abilities either. -1

    As for the damage it matches well with ninja since it could do 1.5x the damage to flag carriers and with the axe buffed itll end up doing iron sword damage with extra splash to keep enemies away, i could however buff the armor to add some leather legs like the comment above says, this class also gets resistance when the flags stolen to fortify its armor from what the conditons of the class say

    The reason why this class isnt as solo carry as ninja or assassin is because of its need being a free class that fills in recovery so it must end up being in a state where its not too overpowered and impossible to stop if multiple berserkers are there.

    And in my opinion the leap could fare useful and versitile it allows you to go 5 blocks in the direction you want [though if you like i can make it 6 if thats reasonable] allowing it to reach slightly difficult places a soldier could reach at times for [ex tall trees]where a ninja would have to sacrifice 2 hearts to do and an assassin would have to maneuver around and possibly be stopped.

    The buffs you've listed are nice, of course. However, this will won't fix the issue that it's playstyle will be too similar to ninja or assassin. I agree that we need a free recovery class, but I'd rather it not be a class with a huge damage output but poor armour as we already have two of those for recovery.

    I mean it is similar to ninja, mainly because that's how recovery classes are designed in the game. I understand your point about how similar it is, but without a high damage output it makes it too difficult to recov, and without low armor it becomes overpowered. To make a recovery class one generally needs these two factors, unless there's another way to do this.

    I think of this as an introduction to ninja and assassin, a decent recovery class, that resembles 2 classes that are more difficult to play. It's free, and it has the basic requirements of a recovery based class. We know what we want, now we just need a class that fits this desire. I'm not saying that it should be this specific class, but the genral concept of a free recovery class being added should be heavily considered.

    True I agree on that point, maybe there could be a class that could do things like maybe hitting a enemy prevents them from using launchpads and recieving heals for X amount of time,
    or an ability that stops them in place for a decent amount of time or something that could pull in the enemys a certain distance like a "black hole" when their running forcing them to fight or so,
    Or even a class that when it hits the flag carrier he gets slowed while enemies around you take some knockback allowing you to slightly single out the enemy

    Though honestly like Spades says its quite difficult to make a recovery class that doesnt have high dps and still fits into that niche without making it too overpowered
