    Cuddled hasn't been here since early June. I get all the "broken computer" stuff, but let's be real. if she cared she would check in on the forums from time to time to help out. judging from how her inactivity is going, staff applications are taking forever to be accepted like @Armiral_Mugman said. @Trogy said him and the other SMODs can't accept/deny all applications.

    time to consider getting a new staff manager.

    let's be real. 1 server admin (roke) is not enough to run a server as large as this. he's constantly busy with things, and now he has to take on the role of accepting applications. it's overwhelming.

    promote @18kss to staff manager, then promote @Meepism to wildwest manager. 18 will be able to handle applications as well as helping out with the other crap roke has to deal with by himself basically. server will be run more efficiently, staff applications will be dealt with quicker.

    as for the other servers, warz's not doing too hot without a server manager. i don't know what the deal is, but just promote @FaZe_Sn4x5 to warz SMOD. i don't know why it hasn't happened already, but warz doesn't have an smod. fix it, just one quick promotion. he's proven himself as dedicated countless times with map updates as well as server updates when he's just a mod. just whatever you do, don't promote ritzy.

    war doesn't have a manager, let's fix that. @Snail_5_. been here since around 2013 i believe, been mod for an insanely long time, trustworthy. i don't know why there isn't being SMOD promotions but it needs to be done by putty if not canoodle since she has taken an "absence"

    party manager, @RyGuy. been here forever, trustworthy, same **** as snail

    i don't play ctf but it needs a manager so @Nohox i choose you!


    tl;dr promote people to managers for the servers that don't have one. if canoodle's the one who normally promotes moderators, she's gone. so promote 18kss to staff manager so he can do it.

    If party gets an SMOD it definitely should not be ryguy. The guy doesn't help at all when you ask him and is pretty rude for someone with a moderator tag.

    Nohox is super inactive so I don't know why you are just randomly stating who should be smod for a gamemode when you don't play it.

    I think the rest are probably ok though.

    purest only recently got mod and charlotte is jmod. ryguy has been mod for couple years i believe

    and the ctf thing was a joke, and i even said i don't play the gamemode. if you have a better suggestion feel free to say it instead of attempting to start an argument like 80% of your posts ./shrug

    i've been trying to tell the higher ups to goddam promote my kind and friendly beloved @18kss to admin but they just wont do it, @FaZe_Sn4x5 needs smod for warz, i still dont know why tf greenpeas got smod for warz then left when sn4x5 has put more work in. @Snail_5_ should've been smod ages ago for war. @Meepism should be wildwest manager so my kind friendly beloved @18kss can get admin :3;3:3. @GalaThundR also needs mod, because right now hes a sitting duck in the build community (sitting duck bc hes only jmod), despite doing a ton of good stuff.

    1) what if she can't come online to help?
    2) who would be on 24/7 on a block game? The way you worded it sounds like your saying she should take her own time to care about a block game server most of the time

    Personally, if we're going to promote a CTF mod it should be @Juli3n or @kevshadowslayer. Rest are very inactive.

    Just wondering where it says @tallscot wants cuddled to be on 24/7. He said she should atleast be coming on from time to time, that could be every few days, every week but not 24/7. Surely of her computer is broken she should be able to go on her phone or something and just spend a short amount of time reviewing applications.

    Would also like to touch on the point that if she can't come online to help and hasn't been able to for the past 2-3 months then she should be demoted. In my eyes, she should be demoted until she comes back and we find a temporary replacement in one of the smods.

    If she isn't willing to spend time on this server/game moderating and doing what she's meant to be doing then she should simply resign.

    I disagree with one person suggested there, and believe the other is a great choice. But besides that you would have to look at various details of what people do before making a choice, someone I believe would be a great head/leader of the CTF staff team would be @b0squet for the vast knowledge he has on the game and the amount of time he put into moderating it. Apart from CTF, it's a clear choice that @RyGuy @FaZe_Sn4x5 should be promoted, and @18kss handle stafff applications.

    Tbh I think the lack of promotions is partially due to pride of the higher ups. Its idiotic to have such few staff members with the power to actually get **** done here but for some stupid reason its been that way since I was staff. Why just have roke doing full forum moderation, why just one admin being able to accept / deny applications; have a group discussion on slack and decide there once a common agreement is made. Its not like giving more admin ranks costs money, and trust isn't an issue for the select few that deserve this rank. Smh brawl could be in such a better shape

    I agree with promoting these people if we were to choose a manager, but the only rank that is semi-missing right now is staff manager. What would you suggest all these new managers work on, and why would having SMOD help them?

    For example, what do you suggest the WarZ manager does with his SMOD rank (besides generic stuff like ip checks) that he can't do with MOD? You can do a lot without SMOD or even MOD - see GalaThundR being build manager as JMOD.

    managers would be able to set a priority without argument from other moderators. for example (this didn't really happen), sn4x5 wants to work on map changes for warz while ritzy wants a ./team system added. they'd work to improve the server more efficiently than they could as a moderator as well as dealing with basic IP checks etc.

    A CTF staff member who you didn't mention had 130 hours of in-game time and you're calling them inactive? Do you just flame for fun now, or do you genuinely think like this?

    I do think having Roke as a staff manager at the same time is problematic (due to the amount of work he has to do now, and a few other reasons), and that having SMods deny applicants (unless they obviously don't meet the requirements) will lead to a lot of issues. However, I don't think Canoodle should straight up be replaced just because she's been inactive due to no fault of her own.

    Also, staff applications being left up forever were an issue before Canoodle went inactive. That doesn't make this any less unacceptable, but this isn't necessarily an issue with Canoodle becoming inactive. We just in general need to get better with this, even when Canoodle does come back.

    Oh, also: Canoodle has came in to staff chat from time to time and hasn't been completely away (this isn't a GreenPeas situation - she hasn't completely disappeared). I can't blame her for not coming on the forums and responding to staff applications either - staff applications are either the rubbish ones which receive the copy & paste message (which SMods can quite easily resolve without issues), or the good ones which she'll need to spend time to look into more. With those applications, ideally even with a staff manager they would be discussed by all staff members before a decision was made, to avoid any bias (very recently, someone was denied for what I think is a very biased reason, and their application wasn't discussed much in staff chat. Bias will still be an issue even when Canoodle does come back).

    I definitely agree that all servers that don't have managers need to get a manager ASAP.

    For whom should become server managers:
    • War: @Snail_5_
    • WarZ: @FaZe_Ritzy
    • Party: Anyone who I think has potential to be the party manager has either only recently been promoted to mod (Purest), is currently JMod (Charlotte) or is still applying (Feather), so uhhh pass.
    • Wild West: @Meepism
    • Build: @Xelasi, once she's been mod for a few months
    • CTF: Undecided
    I also think we need a community manager, who would be in charge mostly of getting community feedback and letting the community know what's going on behind the scenes, such as posting weekly updates on what work has been done and posting teasers to upcoming updates that we know we can provide. The person promoted should ideally be involved in the community much, and should already be posting a load of ideas and passing on a load of ideas. The best candidate for that would probably be @GalaThundR, as he's passed on loads of community ideas into staff chat (but is already busy with the build team and is not mod yet, so there are a few issues posing with that).

    However, I definitely think we need more active SMods. Also, while we're talking about activity, I think we need to demote inactive staff. Any staff members who have just sorta disappeared and don't have a good reason for their inactivity should be demoted. We should implement a system which allows people to leave the staff team if they're inactive for an extended period of time for a good reason, and allows these people to return to the staff team when they're able to come back.

    For example, oh crap I just spilt coffee all over my computer and it's not working - I'll have to go inactive for 3 months while I earn enough money to buy a new computer. Instead of just filing an inactivity report and leaving for 3 months, I'd temporarily not appear as a staff member. I'd still have all my perms everywhere and would be in the staff chat (in case I'm somehow able to get on), but I wouldn't appear as a staff member anywhere so players won't look at me and think "oh hey that staff member's inactive" and have it reflect badly on everyone. Ultimately, a lot of staff members are inactive due to no fault of their own, but there are still negative repercussions of this which ideally should be avoided.

    In my opinion, the most important part about being a server manager is the authority that comes with it. You get the final say regarding changes to the gamemodes, and it's a very important responsibility (so people who are promoted to server manager should have common sense, and the ability to listen to others and take into consideration other people's opinions).
