CTF map event: top 40

Hey CTF community,
Wizz here. You guys might remember my map day idea, with the old/new/removed maps and stuff. Well, that never really got to work out, because some maps weren't configurated, or missed a spawnbox, or had outdated information it, etc. So it wouldn't have worked out anyway.

But, I've come up with a new idea, and that idea is a so-called top 25 maps (of all time). In my idea's, this event would take place right before the release of a new wave. I don't know exactly how frequent this event would be, we can get to details later. The thing about this event is, the community gets to vote their top 10 maps. Their number 10 would get 1 point, their number one would get 10 points. We would then count all the points, and make a top 25 list.

The 25 maps with the most points will get played, and in the order of POINTS, from fewest to most. Like, say 20 people vote Blackout as their number 6. That would be 100 points (20x5). And then like 15 people would vote Atlantis as their number 1. That would be 150 points. So Atlantis would have more POINTS, although Blackout has more VOTES. But here, in the case of ordering from 25-1, it's about the points.

I'm offering to do all the counting of the votes and stuff, but I what I WOULD need, is some help from some staff to set the maps and caps (no limit, just a time limit of like 10-20 minutes) and all those details if the event actually takes place xD.

Like I said, I'll do my best at the counting of the ppm (points per map) and all that stuff, but I'm open to any help with that! I'll try to schedule when they get played and all that, and how long they'll take, but I WILL need some help from staff with the actual setting of the maps.

Please do not gravedig No. The problems with that idea were the facts that like half the maps I had on my list weren't configurated (well enough), and the fact that it would be too frequent. This event would be like once per map wave, which is like once every 4-6 months. I also promise I won't make 5 threads about this topic, just this one, and maybe a voting thread if this idea gets accepted. Thanks for the concern, though.

 

I agree, to be honest. Would 20-25 be a better idea? Imo 20 is a bit on the short side, but 40 is too long.

Because, 99% of people's favorite maps are maps that have actually been in rotation, and to be in rotation they have to be fully configurated and stuff. And, if a map hasn't been configurated, and it reaches the list with amount of points, I would not allow it to enter because of the configuration issues.

This time it's just a joke against @Slayway. I don't usually do this anymore.

Then maybe we could do something like 10 minutes per map, no cap limit? Then it would only take 4 hours +a little. That's a little while, but it's better than 20 minutes per map.

Then you don't have to play the 25-16 something maps. The top 15 would be more fun. The WHOLE EVENT would last about 4 hours+a little more, for the diehard CTF players. Or maybe we can do something like the 25-11 maps only get played for 10 mins, the 10-2 maps get played for 15 minutes, and the number 1 map (probably Blackout or Air Balloons) gets fully played, but with caps and all.

But, maps like Airlock and Starlight and Tibetan Seclusion would probably come close to the number one (once again, I think that would be Blackout/Air Balloons, but I could be wrong, of course). There are a bunch of popular old maps in the game that haven't been in rotation for a while, and they'll probably get voted a lot.

 

Yeah it'll probably be the weekend. My aim would be the weekend before the new map wave. That this event would take place the weekend before every new wave.
