    Pixelmon
    Client Mod Required

An RPG adaptation of the Kanto Pokemon map in Minecraft. We will be one of the first servers to be utilizing all of the Pixelmon 1.8 features. Players will start in Pallet Town and begin their journey to catch them all! While playing this server, you will have to complete quests, and defeat all gym leaders, and conquer the Elite Four.
So after going through @Signatured's profile for a little bit, I found a recent discussion about Pixelmon. I am currently a staff member on a well known Pixelmon server, so yes I know that it does have a lot of success if the server is made correctly.

Recently, the normal Pixelmon mod that many people have played was shut down by the Pokemon Company. Nobody really knows why, but that's what happened. However, a large group of people came together to create Pixelmon Dark, the exact same mod but with all the updates that the players wanted to see before it was shut down. Here's a showcase of what it actually is (this is an earlier version of the mod, it's actually updated since this video was made):

My suggestion is to add a Pixelmon server using this mod once War 2.0 is complete. Pixelmon servers make a ton of money (I would know) and it's actually quite an entertaining game mode. Here's my ideas:

For those who don't know, Pixelmon is Pokemon in Minecraft. In Vanilla pixelmon (single player, no plugins etc.) Pokemon spawn all around you on your Minecraft world. You're basically supposed to catch Pokemon to make a team with balls (poke balls, ultra balls, great balls, lot more) that you can create using a modded anvil, hammer, etc. It's basically survival with Pokemon. A lot of YouTubers have made series of this, so if you want to get a better understanding if the general idea you could go look there. There's a WHOLE lot more to it than this, but this is just the gist of it. There are shiny Pokemon (Pokemon that are different color than the normal Pokemon, 1/8000 chance for one to spawn I believe), boss Pokemon (Pokemon that are high leveled, when you defeat them they give you random items that can be extremely beneficial). There are legendaries, which are very powerful Pokemon that rarely spawn, but when they do, it announces it in chat and says which biome they spawn.

For a server, there's a ton of plugins and things to add.
    1. ./vote: It would work the same way it does on Brawl right now, except when you use it on the Pixelmon server you would have the chance to buy certain items with the tokens that are beneficial. Such as:
Master balls (captures a Pokemon without fail when you use it), an Orb (Used to capture the legendary Pokemon called Articuno, Moltres, or Zapdos), Rare Candies (level up your Pokemon whenever you use it on them), any Pokeball, any stone (stones are used to evolve certain Pokemon, like thunder stone evolves Pikachu into Raichu, water stones, leaf stones, etc.). You could buy certain items that would help you for breeding Pokemon (hard to explain, just look it up) such as a Destiny Knot, etc. However, a cool twist would be when you ./vote you have a chance to receive a Vote Key (crates would be a must on the server). You would use this at a Vote Crate, which could give you things such as a random TM (a certain move you can teach to certain Pokemon), poke balls, money, etc. Or maybe even a higher key.

    2. Gyms: If you've ever played Pokemon you would know what a Pokemon Gym is. Basically, a Pokemon Gym is where you battle a certain player (the Gym leader), and if you beat him/her, they would give you a gym badge for whatever gym that would be. Every gym is different. For example, in the Sinnoh region of Pokemon (the Pokemon diamond and pearl games), the first gym is a Rock Gym, which means the leader only uses rock type Pokemon. The next gym is the grass gym, where they only use grass type Pokemon, etc. If you manage to defeat all 8 Pokemon gyms (the level cap increases each gym) in order, and get all 8 gym badges, you could move on to the Elite 4. The Elite 4 is 4 difficult trainers with powerful Pokemon that you have to defeat using only 1 team of yours. You would have to defeat all 4 of them in a row without using a healing machine (heals all your Pokemon, only way you could heal them is by items such as full restores, potions, etc.). If you manage to defeat all 4, you would become the champion (that is, if there wasn't a champion already). If there was already a champion (aka the first person to defeat the elite 4), you would have to battle that champion for the title. Overall, it's a way to keep players entertained and busy, as well as interested.

    3. Crates: As I mentioned above, crates are a must on Pixelmon servers. Basically, they're just crates that you open with keys that you can buy from the Brawl store or win from voting, events. etc. Here are my ideas for the crates:

*Vote Crate: You open this with a Vote Key you earn from voting. Able to earn a random TM, or a slim chance of a higher key.

*Rare Crate: You open this with a Rare Key you can earn from a vote crate, an event, or from purchasing one from the Brawl store. You can also earn this from ./kit monthly (discussed below), a ./kit that can only be used once per month. Able to earn a random Pokemon, a chance for a random shiny Pokemon, a small chance for a higher key.

*Legendary Crate: You open this with a Legend Key you can earn from a rare crate, an event, or purchasing one from the Brawl store. Able to earn a random Pokemon, a good chance for a random shiny Pokemon, a small chance for a random legendary Pokemon, a small chance for a higher key, TINY chance for a rank (discussed below).

*Mythical Crate: You open this with a Mythical Key you can earn from a Legendary Crate, an event, or purchasing one from the Brawl store. Guarantees a shiny Pokemon, there's a chance for a random legendary, a small chance for a shiny legendary Pokemon, a small chance for a higher key, small chance for a rank.

*Event Crate: You open this with an Event Key you can earn from a Legendary Crate during an event (such as a Summer Sale, Independence Day, Christmas, halloween, etc.), or from the Brawl store during an event. Guarantees a shiny Pokemon specific to the event (for example, a summer event would guarantee a shiny Pokemon related to summer (like a water type sharpedo who lives in the ocean), chance for a legendary Pokemon, chance for a shiny legendary Pokemon, small chance for a rank.

    4. Kits: When you first join the server, you should start off with ./kit starter, which would give you: 10 Pokeballs, running shoes (makes you run faster), 10 potions, and basic tools. Some other kit ideas are:

*./kit monthly: Gives you a Rare Key, can only be used once every month.
*./kit EV: Gives you items which would help you EV train your Pokemon (Power Weight, Power Belt, Power Band, Power Anklet, Power Lens, Power Bracer).
*./kit claim: Gives you a shovel (whatever item allows you to claim land), and a book teaching you how to claim land. Would prevent grieving/raiding of any sort, as this wouldn't be allowed on the server (if you want it to survive anyway).
    *Donor Kits:
-./kit VIP: Gives you 20 rare candies, 20 Pokeballs, Ultraballs, and Great Balls, and $1000 of in-game currency.
-./kit MVP: Gives you 40 rare candies, 40 Pokeballs, Ultraballs, and Great Balls, and $2000 of in-game currency.
-./kit Elite: Gives you a stack of rare candies, a stack of Pokeballs, Ultraballs, and Great balls, and $3500 of in-game currency.
(Subject to change due to EULA, only thing that should be changed because of it is the money)

    5. Donors: This is what should happen whenever you purchase a rank for Pixelmon:

*VIP: Access to ./pheal (heals your Pokemon), ./pc (allows you to check your PC box without having to go to a normal PC machine), ./kit VIP.

If you buy lifetime VIP, gives you any shiny starter Pokemon that you want, a shiny legendary of your choice, and 3 Legendary Keys.

*MVP: Access to all VIP commands, plus ./craft (opens up a crafting table), ./tradesim (a trade simulation command. Some Pokemon are only able to evolve if you trade them with a certain item, this command would make it so you don't have to do that, you just do ./tradesim (Pokemon slot) and it would simulate the trade so your Pokemon would evolve). ./kit MVP

If you buy lifetime MVP, it gives you 3 shiny starters of your choice, 2 shiny legendaries of your choice, 3 Legendary Keys and 2 Mythical Keys.

*Elite: Access to all VIP and MVP commands, plus ./hatch (allows you to hatch an egg when you use the command instead of having to hatch it manually, running around for 15 minutes until it hatches).

If you buy lifetime Elite, it gives you 5 shiny starters of your choice, 3 shiny legendaries of your choice, 5 Legendary Keys, 3 Mythical Keys, and 1 event key (if there's an event at the time of the purchase).

Some plugins that would make the server way better:

    *./wt (slot)
-wt or wonder trade, is a system where you trade your Pokemon into the system for a random Pokemon in return. For example, I have a Pikachu in slot 1. I do ./wt 1. It asks me to do ./wt 1 confirm to make sure that I am not making a mistake (as this permanently takes your Pokemon away). It replaces my Pikachu with a random Pokemon that another player put into the ./wt system. Now somebody else who uses ./wt has a chance to get the Pikachu that I put in there. You would only be able to use this command once per hour.

    *./pauc (slot) (starting price) (increasement)
-This command is an auction command in which you would auction off Pokemon for people on the server to bid on. For example, if I wanted to auction off my Pikachu and it's in slot 1, I would do:
./pauc 1 (starting price, so for me it would be like 100) (increasement, so whenever people bid on it it increases by this number, so it would be 100 for me). Auctions would last a minute, and it would all be in the chat. When a Pokemon is listed on the auction, it would give the Pokemon's name, all of it's stats (moves, nature, etc.), and it's IVs and EVs. If people felt like it's a Pokemon they want, they would bid on it. Very good way to make money if you have shiny Pokemon you don't want to use.

    *./pshout (slot) (price)
-This command is similar to the auction command, but it's not for bidding. Whenever you ./pshout your Pokemon, the first one to click on it gets the Pokemon for the price listed. This command is basically used in order to get a set price on a Pokemon. It's selling your Pokemon for a set price. It would list all the Pokemon's stats, whether it's shiny or not, and all of it's IVs and EVs.

No pay to win, compliant with the EULA. Makes money, retains a player base, gives you something to work on and work for. Suggested this to @SoCool21 a while back, he seemed alright with it. Played this game with @NMHRODMAN1SBEST, so hopefully he can agree with how it can be a lot of fun. Tell me what you think.

    @chickenputty @Mario
ik Yoshi played this quite a bit so I'm hoping you guys have an idea of what its like

also you could probably replace this with HG tbh, would probably have a bigger player base if there's a decent tutorial showing you how to download/install etc

edit: the server CHAP promised 2 years ago

What is stopping Nintendo from shutting down this project as well? Say we put time and money into developing a Pixelmon Dark server then the mod is forced to shutdown. It would have been a waste of time and resources for us it that were to happen

Well, the only thing that Nintendo would be able to do is stop you guys from pushing out updates for the server. The Pixelmon Dark mod has been out quite a while as well. What would happen is that if Nintendo for some reason decides to "shut down" Pixelmon Dark as well, it would only shut down development. They didn't force people to uninstall their Pixelmon when it was originally shut down, they just didn't allow them to put out any more updates. And from where the mod is right now, there isn't even that many more updates to put out before literally every Pokemon in the game is introduced as well as all the new features from the new games.

So tl:dr if Nintendo shuts down development of Dark, there will pretty much be no more updates for Dark to release either way. The server would still be allowed to be up, you could have the download link to the mod posted on the forums and in the tutorial in game, and you could still push out updates that are unrelated to the mod (server updates).

I've never played Pixelmon (refused to download the client - one of the updates to Pixelmon could've possibly been malicious and it wasn't worth the risk for me), however I am in a Discord with a few friends who play a Pixelmon server and it looks pretty interesting.

I'd definitely be interested to see Pixelmon be added to Brawl. However, how much work would this take? To my (limited) knowledge, we'd have to build quite a big map which could take over a year for our build team to do. Would we have to do that? Sorry if this is mentioned in the thread, but it is 11pm and I don't have the time to read all of it. I'll try to make a better response tomorrow.

You wouldn't have to build a replica of the Pokemon region like what was mentioned in Chap's thread, all you'd have to do is build a big spawn, 8 gyms and a place for the elite 4. It shouldn't take more than a month if the build team sets their priority on to it, but if they're busy with other things it could probably take a couple months.

This, and considering we have never worked with mods or even ran mod based servers, we are definitely not the group to take on something like this.

Also, about the "we haven't done this before" thing, when you guys first made the server did you stop because you hadn't done it before? Even if you haven't done a mod based server before, if you do manage to get it up and running it would be very beneficial considering there are only a few Pixelmon servers that are using Pixelmon Dark, and this seems to be bigger than most of them.

    hello, modding community liaison here

pixelmon dark is literally the original pixelmon mod. the "new authors" just forked the old mod and tacked their own names onto it. thus, because they are one and the same, pixelmon dark is just as illegal as the original mod.

ok cool don't touch pixelmon bye

for the record, this is basically false. technically, any party using the mod after its takedown is doing so illegally, which is a really good reason for Brawl to not become involved in something like this. take, for example, the Technic Pack organization: they've already dissociated entirely from the Pixelmon mod and its developers and they've blacklisted anybody using Pixelmon from official support channels.

Pixelmon Reborn and Pixelmon Dark are different mods, but they're both forked from the original mod's code and resources

i mean, there was like half a dozen servers promised two years ago. As I understand it Brawl had more coders and a much larger active playerbase at the time (when I joined, a month after the announcement, Brawl was still getting ~1100 players at peak times) so those promises weren't entirely unrealistic.

obviously that's not the case now

it took over a year for wild west to come out and its only been somewhat popular. same with battle royale. war 2.0 is still being worked on, as everyone knows. another project, party 2.0, is also supposed to come out sooner or later.

in the meantime most of the 'legacy servers' (for lack of a better term) don't get updated as often as would be ideal or hardly at all. i.e. CTF still has a bunch of bugs that need to be fixed (@Claod) and classes like Elf, Necro, and Dwarf all need overhauls. using that ^^ as an example because i've been around CTF for over five years and have been consistently active in CTF related discussions over that time

part of the reason why older servers are losing players is because the gamemode's become stale. Updates can correct that but only to an extent. it's unbelievable how many mcpvp'ers still **** on a video brawl's released about some gamemode or a map update or whatever, 2 years after mcpvp was bought out.

imo I'd rather see consistent updates to all of Brawl's current servers rather than dedicating any more coding time to new stuff which may or may not get Brawl in trouble with a giant corporation. I mean that's not going to happen anyway with only two devs for ten gamemodes but when i get replies like this:

    thing99.JPG

makes me wonder about over-commitment to too many projects

that said... mad props for the necro updates that have happened. just wish there could be more, significant, changes (both with necro and in general)

well the thing is, we can't police the pixelmon packs because we straight up don't have enough staff members to do it. our compromise is that we let them live on the technic platform, but we'll comply with any nintendo c&d and we won't offer official support for those packs

Nintendo already stopped development of pixelmon so it'd be super risky to take on a project like this. In the past mcpvp had to change the name of hg from hunger games to hardcore games because of simple copyright issues, this would be something much bigger as the mod has already been shut down and the new one is directly evading the copyright rules that were set in place.

at the least the new servers have potential to grow... ctf/war/warz are dead servers that dont really have a way to become popular again and its a waste of time updating them

wildwest/br/war 2.0 have really good potential if brawl can pick up player traction when 2.0 gets released

WarZ was kind of alive for a few weeks after the reset (60-70 players most days. not great but a lot better than 10-20) so it's not like its totally a lost cause. And CTF is not dead lol

Sure. I'm just saying working on too many projects at once hurts other servers, which could be more popular (i.e. some of the old players may come back, that sort of thing) if they got more attention.
