As to put all the pieces together:

The main reason that pushed me to the base idea of this addition is that one of main causes that players leave is that without money (if for example they spent it on something useless, or suddenly became bankrupt) they are hopeless to progress in the game. Some conclusions bankruptcy has is:

No guns and armor to protect themselves when trying to enter a base to process the drugs they previously harvested.

No horse for travelling. The travelling times are huge when walking by foot. Most players would get bored not even halfway. Therefore most would leave the game.

General disadvantage like written above as progress in game is not possible.

Now, how can we put this idea to work and make it abuse-proof?

First of all, players would go to the bank. There is an NPC, like there's currently, which when clicked the pop-up GUI would show one more option called "Loan" (preferably a gold block but that's just a small detail). A message would show in chat asking the player to enter the amount of money they would like to borrow.

The money is later given to a new and distinct carrier for money similar to the current "Wallet" with the main and only difference that the money that is carried in there cannot be dropped. Furthermore, if no money is returned to the bank the player would not be able to borrow any more money until he returns his previous loan.

And for the ones that don't return their money we could use these discipline methods:

Make it possible to have a negative amount of money ( -x money ) and therefore make them unable buy anything until they get back all that money through selling ores/drugs for example: I didn't pay back the money of my loan and therefore I have negative -(x money that wasn't paid back). If I paid back for example half of it I would get the negative money halved. (Credit goes to @_Karst for this idea).

Be put to prison with the bounty being same with the amount of money that wasn't returned, or higher by an analogy.

Even with the money part sorted there's still the item dropping part, I will talk about it up next.

The individual would only be able to buy whatever he wants with that money, whether he uses it with the addition of his wallet money to pay for something they didn't enough money for or fully through his loan money.

This means no Casinos and drinking (actually the Bartender could work as no money is transferred to a different person in any way unlike the Coin Flipper which there's a chance of that happening).

As for the item dropping we could use this:

We could make items that were bought with loan money unable to be dropped until the loan is returned to the bank. Then the player is free to drop it, gift it etc.

I think these would help the idea to be put to work.

Even with that stuff could be bought => dropped.

If the money can be used it can also be abused. If it can not be used there is no point in it. You are never going to get this to work without a complex system. And in that case we could as well code a new gamemode.

You guys are missing one thing, you cannot sell items back to an NPC, and there is no auction system, so you take this carried money system that was brought up, and make that money not droppable, so therefore you would be item rich, nothing else, which would make it practically pointless to abuse.

What was brought up though was the item dropping. A counter I came up with was making loan-bought items in-droppable similar to the sheriff ones until the loan money is returned to the bank.

It's easy to see where you're coming from on this thread. Retention is crap, but this isn't the way to fix it. This idea crosses the line between virtual gaming into reality. Because of this and this alone, the idea won't work.

There's no need for loans. A pony costs just over 2 stacks of wood, and much less in ores. The cheaper guns are very accessible.

Part of the experience is building up your ability to make money. Sure you won't win an elite tier pvp fight, but that is ok, it gives you something to work towards and keeps you online. There's no need for players to be able to have multiple thousands of dollars to spend on whatever right away, regardless of the restrictions placed on getting it.

It cheapens the entire point of the gamemode, which is to make enough money to survive in a dangerous world.

What IS needed is to lower the barriers of entry to the bottom levels of success, the largest of which is having a horse. But you can't do that with granting money, money can be used to buy anything.

Yes, I get the point, but isn't reality that Wild West is based on? - not that I got inspiration from reality mainly and the reason to write this idea.

This is something I never considered. Very good point that you replied, a game without progression is pointless. I think this idea is ready to be brought down.
