    Dear CTF community,


    After my long time of around 6 years in CTF, has come to my attention that many classes have been nerfed. Despite this, some classes still manage to stay in the upper echelon of the metagame, namely Ninja and Chemist. While other classes still have some viability, their viability revolves around the presence of these classes. Today, I will point out the problems in Chemist.

    Chemist has high damage output, and can kill people in few hits with buffs. Not only this, chemist can buff other classes as well. This creates a problem in small matches where chemists can make teams of 3 and bully players at spawn. This is particularly annoying in small games and when the chemist has a medic to heal pots.

    Next, pots are annoying. Poison pot shouldn't kill assassin, but I digress, that's the least of the problems. The problem is with chemist support, chemists can easily make a few hits, run away to heal/regen pot, and return back to fight. This coupled with a strong damage output makes chemist one of the most formidable classes in the game, and almost impossible to fight in groups, especially with medic support since the pots do return to them. (Hit and run pvp class with ridiculous damage output. Now where have I heard that before )

    Thus, I propose the strategy to deal with chemist. Chemists have a max of 4 health pots, and cannot get strength from their own pots. In return, they slowly regenerate health over time. Medics cannot refresh pots. This will make chemist much more similar to elf in gameplay, and much less overwhelming.

    Chemist's dominance in the meta is a problem, albeit minor as compared to ninja. Especially since so many people play chemists, targetting them wouldn't be as effective as say with engineer. Thus, I seek the community's cooperation with this subject, and hope the balancing team will consider the effects of classes in groups as well as alone.

    Chemist's poison pots killing assassins is a really good thing it stops them having to constantly block when an assassin is near and get damaged by other players for free while you have to somehow avoid an assassin about to kill you as soon as you unblock.

    Chemist's strength and high damage can be quite annoying and the fact it can buff other players may be annoying but, it is very much needed on both offense and defense for one to kill the flag room quickly to get a steal and supporting the flag carrier and two, for defence for the defensive part of your team to deal high damage outputs onto the opposite team trying to steal the flag.

    Chemist's health pool really isn't a problem in my opinion if you are at least half decent at PvP you can kill a chemist quick quickly and drain them quickly too. The damage pots do help chemists countering people getting combos on them for sure yes, however, they do take a lot of damage from most classes in return meaning they'll have to pot a lot anyways.
    Medics not being able to restore a chemist's potions wouldn't really be any sort of a good idea as, of what has been said they are easily drained and you are bound to have other people helping you in game to kill off the medic before it has a chance to heal the chemist if you are playing defence if not, small games should be an easy handle on the defence side with most classes.

    I do not think chemist needs another nerf for a while and especially not in the way you have suggested as it'd make the class too weak in my opinion.

    @kevshadowslayer If you pot before you begin falling too fast you are occasionally able to catch it in midair. I'm not saying it's reliable at all or worth practicing but it's not impossible...
    Also, this is a troll thread.

    You're completely right.

    Let's remove one random potion to nerf.

    Then let's rebuff by giving them a potion that restores and adds a +1 cap to all potions on usage. It also applies to itself.

    You see, if you think Chemist is broken, after constant nerfs/changes, you are very bad

    I don't think that chemist shouldn't be able to gain pots back from medics. If you are to argue about this, you can start an argument with the medic kit. I do agree, that maybe, chemists can regenerate potions slowly, but only have 4 heal pots. Also, I made a thread on this just now, chemist can lose more xp bar levels by throwing poison and instant damage. Hope it helps!
