Idea Block Traps

    I was thinking maybe on some of the new CTF maps, there could be block traps. A block trap is a block that gives you negative status effects for a certain period of time[dependent on how severe the effects of the status effect is]. Eg- poison should last longer then blindness as blindness is more severe.The status effects that the block trap gives are level 1. The status effects the block trap gives are slowness, poison, nausea, mining fatigue and blindness. Slowness will last for 30-45 seconds, poison will last for 15-30 seconds, nausea will last for 30-40 seconds, mining fatigue will last for 10-20 seconds and blindness will last for 4-5 seconds.

    A block trap looks exactly the same as an ordinary block on the map and after it is stepped on it does not change its appearance. You will get a message on chat saying

    You have stepped on a block trap and got [status effect] for [length of time in seconds].

    The amount of block traps on a CTF map should be dependent on the size of the map.
    When the status effects run out of time is when you can step on a block trap and get the status effects again.

    It's creative.... but I feel like at some point people would be begging to remove them. Honestly, I'd probably be one of them. I really don't see the appeal of wanting to be debuffed at random points in the map.

    Go check out my Trapper Class idea. Its burred somewhere deep in this section. Its a class that's completely dedicated to placing traps around the map. Sort of along the ideas of what you were thinking, only this allows players to be strategic with where they go, and they'll *never* be in the same place twice.

    The problem with having the trap blocks directly on the map is that once players figure out where they are, they just won't go to that part of the map, and it'll be kinda useless.

    The idea is creative but I think they should be able to see the blocks so they can avoid it, for example make it pressure plates so people know not to step on it and people that aren't watching will get debuffed.
