I find it amusing that you start with the mention of free speech, only to then say players can't talk about their depression over Minecraft.


Seriously though, if a person has depression and they actually want to get better, there's 24/7 help and it's completely free; use it.

 

+1. You shouldn't be bringing any of these issues up in game, and there are tons of resources better suited than the CTF server. Plus, there's many others on the server that don't want to see that type of content when the play. Should be muteable or bannable 100%.

Pretty stupid logic right there. Why even moderate the chat if you can turn it off? I hate when people say things like that.

 

SoCool, I believe you missed the point of my brother's statement. Brawl is not a therapist. If a person is seeking help, there are free, confidential, 24/7 suicide prevention hotlines and chat rooms. A public Minecraft chat, especially one that tends to get pretty toxic with "kys" being thrown around quite a bit, shouldn't be where a person goes for help.

 

Sometimes professional help isn't what the person is after, more of a friend or someone to be there for them not someone to ask questions all the time /shrug.

If someone's genuinely depressed I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be talking about killing themselves in all chat, it's been said multiple times but anyone with real issues would either be silent or privately pm someone they feel that is supportive and helpful.

 

How is this even a debate... If someone's depressed and they go to a minecraft in-game chat as their last resort, (not even slack or discord?) they're just stupid. But hey what do I know I might have just landed myself on a tape ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

This is life experience, that's why you don't understand it. For the rest of your life, people are going to say or do **** you don't like. Don't even start with that ****. I have a friend who is depressed ATM but I don't see her creating a big fuss in a block game.. She came to me and my best friend and we are helping her get over it. I know exactly what people go through when they are depressed and its awful. And I don't have an "Insensitive brain". I watched my grandfather die and held his hand till his last breath and belive me it was the hardest thing I have ever incounterd in life. All I'm trying to say is complaining about ^^^ in minecraft will get you no where. Good day sir.
