PPM Survey

Hello and welcome to the PPM Survey thread. This is a survey I decided to make so PPM creators know what people like in PPMs and what could be changed. I decided to make a thread for this after several people suggested that I use it to put the results up and get more responses. Currently I have about 30
responses but I am hoping to get about 40-50 before I summarise the results on this thread. Please do not fill in the survey if you have not participated in a PPM and if you decide to make a troll response, I can simply delete it with 1 click so I am not really bothered. Thank you. Link to survey.

Thank you everyone that filled out the Survey. I only got 36 full results (about 10 more ones that I did not understands or were trolls). Here are the summarised results with some charts/graphs. I may do another one in the future if I feel like it, I may also make the spreadsheet public so people can see each answer individually. ​

Can you talk in calls?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 17/36 (47.2%) of these people can speak in calls. 3/36 (8.3%) of these people cannot speak in calls, another 3/36 can sometimes and 7/36 (19.4%) of these people can but only if needed to. The other 6 people have reasons for not speaking/speaking such as listening to music.

What is your timezone?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 15 people (41.7%) are in the EST Timezone, this and GMT which was 27.8% (10 people) were significantly higher than other timezones. PST and CEST both had 3 people (8.3%) and there were a few others such as NZST and WST.​

What are your favoured roles?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. The most popular role was Defense & Recovery, 23 people (63.9%) of the people that filled out this form would not mind playing it in a ppm. Offense & Capping was next where 19 people (52.8%) of people could play it. Support had 11 people (30.6%) and midfield had 7 people (19.4%). There were a few people who said they could play all of them.

What are your favoured classes?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. Soldier, Ninja and Heavy were the most popular with 22 and 21 people playing them (58.3% and 61.1%). The least popular was Pyro with only 5 people (13.9%) being comfortable with playing the class. Here is the graph to see the rest of the classes: ​

Do you like new or unknown maps (Aquafas V, Chernobyl etc.) being tested in PPMs?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 9 of them (25%) said they like these kind of rotation maps being tested in PPMs. 11.1% (4 people) decided that they did not like it. 16/36 (44.4%) said that it depends on the map and another 19.4% (7 people) sadly don't care.

What maps do you like?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. I realise now that I probably did not do this question in the most efficient way but the most common answers were Blackout, Airlock I or Rework, Skyworlds I or V, Opposites Collide V, Lowrise and Waitamo Caves.

What maps do you dislike?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. I realise now that I probably did not do this question in the most efficient way but the most common answers were vault maps, old maps and some overplayed ones (even Blackout and Lowrise).​

What is the best size for a PPM?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 10v10s and 9v9s were the most popular choice and 12v12s were the least popular. Here is the graph to show the exact details:

Should Ninja Capping be allowed?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. The majority of people think that all types of Ninja Capping should be allowed except for ghosting. Here is the graph to show the exact details:


How should Ninja be restricted?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 33.3% (12 people) thought that the restriction should be 3 Ninjas. The next most popular choices were 2 Ninjas and Don't care, these both had 7 peoples votes (19.4%). The rest of the people said that it depends on the size or that there should be no restriction.

How should Heavy be restricted?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. A large majority of people said that there should be a 3 Heavy limit (22 people which is equivalent to 61.1%). Others said that it should be a 4 Heavy limit or that it would depend on the size of the PPM. A few others didn't care and one person even said that it depends on who is playing.

How should Soldier be restricted?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 41.7% (15 people) said that the Soldier limit should be 3 soldiers. The majority of the rest were a compromise between 3 Soldier and Don't care. One person even said that there should not be a restriction for Soldier.​

Do you prefer Weekend or Weekday PPMs.?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. The most popular choice was that both are fine with 66.7% of people picking this. The least popular choice was weekday with 2 people (5.6%) picking it. Here is the graph to see the results in detail:

What times can you make on Weekdays?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. 61.1% of people can attend a PPM that is between 4 and 5pm EST. This was the most popular choice with 6-8pm EST also being fairly high with 52.8% (19 people). Here is the graph:



What times can you make on Weekends?
This was a required question so all 36 people answered it. The most popular time was yet again 4-5pm ESt with 88.9% of people being able to make it. However all times from 2-7pm EST had fairly high percentages. Here's the graph:

Do you like looking at your Match Stats from the PPM?

Why did you release the emp update, you should have waited until April fools XDDDD

 

Not a required question so you didn't even have to answer it but I see what you mean.

@Carnotauros and @Knaber, a PPM stands for Player Pool Match. These are basically matches hosted by people like myself where you can sign up to play essentially a normal CTF teams match except you get put on random teams. There is a discord for this which I could pm you if you wanted.
