I can't recall if I caught this idea floating around the forums or through the Committee's questionnaire session, but I'd like to bring it back into the discussion about credit spending. I've been thinking of ways that we could spend credits whilst not interfering with Brawl's funding in the process.

I saw a suggestion about using credits for other players to buy extra health and I extended that idea by saying ninjas could potentially buy extra invisibility or medic could exchange credits for extra webs but I feel this would provide an unfair advantage to gameplay and would hurt CTF more than anything.

I do like the idea of particle effects similar to those of KitBrawl. If an archer and pyro could spend credits on a special effect that would follow all their arrows like how elf has different particles depending on the spells, that could be a cool cosmetic that could be bought via credits or through the Brawl shop depending on how bad someone wants particle effects on their bow. It doesn't just have to be bows though, it could stretch as far as player trails for movement or even an animation or effect that plays when someone captures or recovers a flag. I think it'd be pretty cool if there was like a smoke bomb effect if I were to capture the flag.

The only downfall to this issue that I could think of is the lag that it could present. Some players are already complaining of lag with the most recent update. I don't know, I just figured I'd bring this back into the discussion and seek community feedback.

Amongst other things on my mind, I was also pondering the idea of giving elf the ability to block dwarf's hits when using the shield element. For casual games that have a defensive dwarf, I thought this could inspire offensive coordination to include an elf to block hits temporarily while the rest of the offense either steals or clears the flagroom. I'd also like to hear some feedback on this suggestion as well.

Cosmetics are definitely a big thing being discussed, since most regular players have tons of credits just floating around and need to spend it, as well as another way for brawl to make money. I definitely don't like the spend credits for a game advantage.

For the elf blocking a dwarf hit, how exactly would that work? Like is only the elf protected or close teammates? It's an interesting idea I'm just trying to see if it could be implemented so it's intuitive.

I wasn't even thinking about having other teammates in close proximity to the shield also being protected, I like that. My whole reasoning for this idea is to give elf a role on offense for those types of games that have an offensive dwarf and nothing happens for a long time. Unless there is an offensive assassin staring down the dwarf while the rest of the team steals or clears the flag room, nothing can really stop dwarf once it reaches it's highest levels.

The point of elf's shield including protection from dwarves is to temporarily disable dwarf from just being able to sit next to the flag without anything having the power to stop it. This could introduce a new aspect to defense where everyone is trying to prevent an elf from getting to their dwarf.

This sounds like some star wars battlefront stuff and super anti-noob friendly, and really not the way we should be going with CTF if we ever want to expand the community. -1

That could help with the lag aspect of things because as of now that's the only thing I could think of that would discourage the Committee and putty from implementing cosmetics.

I'm really not a fan of the extra health this could make certain classes taht are already in need of a rework insanely overpowered.

The cosmetics you mention for arrows should be a standardized thing and not a cosmetic.

And the elf element for melee hits -dwarf only- would be insanely hard to code and seems a bit unrealistic imo
